The Tech Academy is excited and proud to announce its involvement with the United States Air Force on Project Nexus.

Modern technology has become an important part of almost every field of work and study - and the armed forces are no exception. With technology playing such a big role in everyday life, it's important that our Airmen are technologically proficient.

The purpose of Project NEXUS is to equip Airmen with high-demand, state-of-the-art technical skills to solve internal Air Force problems through training from industry leaders. This project is a joint effort by the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command (AETC) in conjunction with AFWERX-Austin.

The Tech Academy was chosen to deliver intensive training to enlisted, officer, and civilian Airmen at the coding bootcamp's Austin campus. The inaugural class, which began in early July, covers data science, mobile iOS development, and UI/UX design. Airmen with various backgrounds and areas of expertise will specialize in either data science, application design, or software development. At the end of their training, the Airmen will complete a capstone project that solves a current software development or data science problem within AETC.

Captain Kyle Palko, Project NEXUS project manager, said in an AETC article, "Project NEXUS will drive internal AETC expertise in modern data science and mobile design and development. It will empower Airmen to become elite digital professionals who deliver strategic data and development capabilities."

As with all Tech Academy students, the participating Air Force students will learn computer science fundamentals, become proficient in web development, and become qualified junior-level developers, in addition to gaining technical skills in their assigned fields.

"We are strong supporters of the military. To sum up our feelings about being involved, I would say we are proud and honored," said Jack Stanley, Co-Founder of The Tech Academy. "We have a strong purpose to serve those that serve our country and we are going to do our best to ensure these great people are well-rounded software developers who are able to competently perform their assigned duties."

The Tech Academy is excited to do its part and is looking forward to further collaboration with the US Air Force.
