Read More available to offer assistance, share their experiences, and provide guidance is invaluable. The best feature by a landslide for me was Code Institute and its hackathons. These are five-day events both online and in-person and not only allow you to put your newly acquired skills to the test but also foster collaboration and teamwork. Working on real-world projects under time constraints alongside peers is an invaluable learning experience. The skills gained from these events cannot be replicated in any other way. Personally, I found the hackathons to be the single best part of my Code Institute journey. Not only did they reinforce my learning and help me sharpen my skills, but they also provided an opportunity to forge lasting connections and friendships within the developer community and even attend events around the globe. Even as an alumni I can participate and they remain an essential aspect of my ongoing learning and professional development. I want to thank all the team who work tirelessly to put these events together.

You can either complain your way through this course or connect via the community and enjoy it by pushing through. Coding is not easy but if you want to you can get a lot out of this course and possibly change careers.

You learn a huge amount on this course, covering all of the languages involved in building a Web application. An advantage is that you progress through the course surrounded by a cohort of others in a similar situation, and supported by experts in the... Read More field. However at times the course content has felt difficult to keep up with, as well as needing to be brought up to date with the latest developments in this area. Overall a very positive experience though, and one that has made me far more confident in remote learning.

Overall, I would recommend the course for anyone who has the appetite to learn, even if they are a complete beginner as ample support is available.

When you're learning from home, the bootcamp can feel a little restrictive due to mandatory stand up and stand downs, but otherwise you're left to your own devices. Qualification. You won't receive a university accredited qualification for passing the bootcamp. For that you must take the paid year long course. Hackathons. As they aren't marked and are all group work, you can encounter some students that haven't adapted to the pace of the course and struggle. Resulting in the final product being less than ideal (It happens!), but it's difficult when you want to potentially use that as projects to add to a professional CV. Overall, this bootcamp was amazing for the entry fee of nothing. I would highly recommend learning some other industry standard content like React, C# etc that are not covered as the course content won't guarantee you getting to interview ready, but rather that you're able to learn fast, know good code practice and have dabbled in some core coding languages so that you can go onto learning what recruiters/businesses need far easier than starting out by yourself.

Cons: I wish the course could have been longer, not so long that Stockholm Syndrome kicks in, but another couple of weeks here and there wouldn't have hurt. Try the 5-Day Challenge and get an idea if coding is for you, then wade in!!
