"Fast Track program is a great course for beginners"

Overall the fast track course is great for beginners, only wished there was more content of Node Js for backend development, instead of using Ruby on Rails for MERN API. Big shout out to Glen Johnson, the "educator assistant", he is a huge reason that... Read More

"A well structured course for maximum growth and exposure."

Like anything, you get out what you put in. Being in a course like this ensures your brain is on code 24/7, with great instructors like Ed, Harrison, Daniel and Jurek, learning was a pleasant task. On the whole, I found the experience to be very positive,... Read More

"I had the most fantastic time doing this course. I almost wish it didn't have to end."

Up until December 2020, I was feeling lost in my career. I was in a job that wasn't working for me. In January 2021, after doing some research, I was approached by a Coder Academy staff who introduced me to the Coder Academy experience and helped me enrol.... Read More

"My current flex track experience that disagrees with negative review below"

I have to politely disagree with the review below. I am also a current student at Coder Academy Flextrack program, and we have learnt and produced so much more work than just "Hello World!". Yes, there has been issues with moving online, I agree, but... Read More

"Overhyped/Expensive/No Job Guarantee/Horrible teachers"

I am a current student at the Coder Academy studying the FLEXTRACK program. The program is seriously overhyped; you can learn most of these concepts on Freecodecamp. The teachers are ok but tend to ramble while teaching. I honestly started the program,... Read More

"Best decision and an awesome experience"

Undertaking this bootcamp was one of the best decisions of my life, and possibly the funnest six months of my life. It’s hard work and you have to show up day after day and put in some long hours. University was a lot easier. That said, the skills you... Read More

I had great relationships with the teachers here, they all helped me when needed, answered my questions (and looking back there were a lot) and presented the information in a way that is understandable. And if you don’t understand any concepts they will help you until you understand, as long as you ask.

All in all, I have rated this course 5 stars across the board because that is the way I feel about it. And I submitted this review with my name so feel free to look me up if you have any questions about the course.

"You Decide How Well the Experience is Going to Be"

Firstly, this is a coding bootcamp. What it means is that the program is tailored to help accelerate learning of an opinionated, tailored-made curriculum and help you develop a certain skillset.

In order to fully benefit from this program, you will need... Read More

Because the bootcamp helps solve a few problems in building your skillset:
1. It gives you a sense of direction. Some may disagree, but to get started, it is sometimes better to have an opinionated direction, regardless of whether that is the best one for you. It is better to have a focus, instead of reading many opinions and going many directions and ended up at nowhere.
2. It helps form a big picture view of this industry and knowledge base - which will help put learning certain things into context. I remember before the bootcamp, there were times doing some tutorials not knowing why I am doing it even though somehow I know its important. But despite that, when the going gets dry, it was easier to give up not knowing the context which that tutorial fit into my learning roadmap. But the bootcamp will help you with that.
3. The bootcamp provide you with a physical community where you can access to get help, be inspired and be encouraged. To me, half the reason I paid for the bootcamp is because of this. Some may argue that you can get community through meetups etc. But I can guarantee that this is very different. The friends you made will go a long way in supporting you in this journey in the future.

The instructors are generally quite helpful. The curriculum is being improved as time passed. I cannot comment on that because I have not been or heard about other bootcamps. But I supplemented the program curriculum with my own learning. So if there is anything that interest me but not taught by the bootcamp, I just pick those up myself.

To summarise:
- If you are expecting to learn everything well purely from the bootcamp and teachings, the bootcamp is not for you.
- If you are self-driven and expect the bootcamp to supplement your learning, you are going to get the most out of the bootcamp.
- If you are looking for a community to learn together, the bootcamp is for you too.
