My time at Epicodus was extremely amazing! I join Epicodus as I wanted to develop a stronger foundation in my Front-end knowledge, but didn't was all the text book aspects of school. Being a hands on kind of guy, this school was a perfect match. What was even better was the pair programming aspect. Instead of relying completely on the teachers, you leaded on the other students and the individuals you were paired with. It really give you the, in the real world, experience. In the real world you will be required to take a lot of initiative and work with other individuals. The other benefit of the pair programming aspect is the diversity of people. You don't realize how much you can learn until you are constantly having a different pair of eyes and perspective next to you. It was awesome. ...

I recently finished the intro to programming course and plan on taking the full-time course at a later time. Epicodus provides you with all the resource that you will need to enter the career field of programming and software development. Of course, you need to put in the hours but epicodus will be there to teach you the proper way of doing things. I think epicodus is very welcoming of anyone who wants to learn programming, there are people that are just starting and people with a bit more experience but everybody gets the attention they need. I will continue to master and have fun with what I learned at the intro course.

I started Epicodus early 2018 and finished near the end of 2018 at the Portland campus. Overall, I had a great experience while taking the course, I felt like I was challenged and that there were definitely great opportunities for growth.

Both of the teachers I had there were fantastic. I spent most of my time with Franz, who was an amazing teacher. He is friendly and understanding and made sure to get to know his students. He always gave helpful feedback but also let you struggle for a bit on your own and give you the opportunity to work through the issues in your code first (I see this as a huge positive, you don't learn without failure). Epicodus was a warm and unforgettable experience. The classes were structured in an efficient format and were fast and challenging, and accomodating to students with no prior experience or a lot of experience. Our teacher Tyler was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. My classmates were ambitious and driven, and I’ve developed lasting relationships with them that will continue to be fruitful in the industry. The staff at Epicodus is motivated to help you succeed and will be there with you up until you find a job you that suits your needs.

Joining Epicodus was the best decision I made while switching my career. At a time I joined them I was 35+ with almost no previous experience in programming. It was hard in the beginning but it was worth it. I met wonderful people there, great teachers and best class mates. I really appreciate all of the friends I made there. We all created together this supportive community with one goal: to be professional programmers one day. And thanks to them, after less than one year from starting this journey, I got my first real job in the industry. I think me working for Microsoft now is the best recommendation for that school.

I graduated from Epicodus in September 2018 and got hired by my internship host company right away. Actually, one of the main reasons why I chose Epicodus was an internship, included in the course. But overall experience turned out great. The school learning curriculum was well structured, lessons were clear and easy to follow, still leaving a room for curiosity, and encouraging students to further exploration. Our instructor, John Franti, was impressively knowledgable and ethical.

I attended the night-time Intro to Programming course this last fall, and I was definitely not disappointed. I had tried doing some online free courses and, although I had learned a lot through those free courses, I knew I needed something more structured and with face time in order to really grasp some of the concepts. This class was perfect for that. Not only was Kyle a great instructor and there for any questions we had, but the whole setup of the class itself made for a great learning environment. I personally had a really good experience at Epicodus. After trying my hand at using free online resources to teach myself coding, I found that I really needed the structure of a classroom with schedules and deadlines to keep me motivated and on task as well as teachers and peers to help answer questions and improve my understanding. To this end, Epicodus was totally worth it. The course work was mostly very good. There were occasional issues since curriculum is often being updated, but the staff were responsive to feedback. I decided to attend the Intro to Programming Course (evening/part time) at Epicodus once I knew I was moving to Portland from NYC. It was a great chance to meet new people, learn some new skills, and see if I might be interested in changing careers. The Intro to Programming Course was perfect for me because it allowed me to get a taste of programming without having to commit to a full-time program and was flexible around a work schedule. The price point was also perfect for me.

I attended Epicodus in order to start a new career path. I chose Epicodus because the cost was very affordable and because of their use of pair programming. The course work was challenging but the teachings of the growth mindset and learning how to learn enabled me to be successful in the courses and and at my current job. The instructors were very knowledgeable and were always willing to help us. I am very glad I chose this program and highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a development bootcamp.

I looked for programming courses and researched few bootcamp schools before I came to Epicodus. The price is more than reasonable for what 27-week program gives you. I almost didn’t have any previous experience except free online course for HTML and JavaScript. There were guys in my cohort who knew much more and it helped me a lot. Pair programming was mostly helpful. We were learning different technologies 8 hours a day, so yes, it was tough. I would suggest all the students to start learning algorithms and data structures during the program to be better prepared for internship interviews and job search.

I’ve researched a few bootcamp school and Epicodus was the right fit for me. The price is reasonable for what I was looking for. Coursework is straightforward and the videos are great but wish there was a few more videos towards the end of the course which they are aware of. It was very challenging for me esp. with no coding experience but I was able to pull through with the support of the instructor and my cohort. The instructor is very knowledgeable and helped me comprehend the basics.

Overall, I enjoyed (even on the tough days) and learned the skills I need to continue to grow my websit business attending Epicodus.

Epicodus has a very strong curriculum in basic web development and can be a good starting point for people who have already determined that coding is the right career path for them.

In my time there I went from only basic knowledge of code logic, to being able to write in 4 different languages (C#, JavaScript, CSS, HTML). I learned valuable tools for programming, how to research code questions, and the basic workflow for building projects from the ground up. By the end of the first section I was able to make a Tetris game with 3 other classmates. By the end of the second unit I built a working social network and space shooter game with 3 different classmates. By the end of the third section, I had built a well designed and functional e-commerce website with 3 more classmates. And ...

I thought Epicodus was a great experience... web development is a tough field to learn, and this school really took me through the ins and outs of it. I started as a complete novice, I knew maybe a little html and css, and I don't think I could have made the same level of advancement on my own. It's hard work for sure, it requires a lot of dedication, but it changed my life and gave me a new career, the hard work continues after graduation, but Epicodus was the jump start I needed.

Epicodus is a great place to learn how to code and become a developer. Coming from a non traditional developer background, Epicodus gave me the skills and the confidence to land my dream job. The staff, teachers, and fellow students were and still are amazing support system. If you ever thought to yourself, “I want to learn how to code but don’t know where to start”, let Epicodus give you that start. “I would like to become a developer but I am not smart enough”, let Epicodus prove you wrong.

I enrolled in Epicodus during the late summer of 2017 and graduated as recently as March of 2018. I started my first day at my new job in early July. I wouldn't have been able to start this new position if it weren't for the skills and direction that Epicodus provided for me. The instructors are top notch they do not coddle you and walk you through everything, they know how to proud your mind into thinking in a manner that you will eventually come to a conclusion and if you eventually cannot solve it they will find the time to assist you. Class sizes are reasonable and the people there seemed very friendly. Epicodus was exactly what I needed to determine whether I wanted to continuing expanding my web programming knowledge into a career. I chose the Part-time course as a wayfinder, which was affordable and fit with my full time work schedule. The instructor was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about industry trends. The pace was challenging but not overwhelming. The classroom space was great with state of the art computers and equipment. The in-person class setting was particularly valuable to me as I really enjoyed partnering with different classmates and learning from each other. Overall it was a good experience for me and a way to push myself to explore new career options. Thank you Epicodus!

If you're looking for a cheaper, quicker way to get into development or other tech career path, this program is for you. It's intense and a lot of work even outside of the 40-hour weeks in class. Your brain will hurt. You will be tired. You may be one of the students who sleeps on the couches. But it is all worth it!

I mainly chose Epicodus over other programs because it offered a React track and included an internship experience. For me, this was a mid-career change and paying for another traditional degree or graduate program wasn't going to work. And while it's not easy to pair program all day long, my classmates were some of the most supportive and enjoyable parts of this experience. I started with a bit of extra web development experience compared with the majority of my classmates. Within 2 weeks I felt like I was swimming in the deep end, Epicodus is FAST at ramping up and challenging you to your fullest. I loved every moment of it. (I should mention that Epicodus does not require you to have any development experience as their courses will bring you up to speed. They do a great job at it!)

The classroom environment is set for rapid learning, the instructors were great and very knowledgeable and you are surrounded by other students who learning along with you. I wasn't the one who made a big career change. Even though I knew almost nothing about web programming, I did have experience with coding, since I was an engineer for a short time before.

The reason I attended epicodus was the fact that I had just moved to Portland from Moscow that year. I knew nobody here, and had no idea how to find job. (just sending out resumes on monster and indeed didn't seem to do the trick.)
