Read More had a high level of engagement. Not only were there instructors responding to my questions but other students would also pitch in. Frankly I was amazed.

The course itself was challenging but after completing it and passing the assessment I feel that I am well prepared to enter the boot camp.

I love that we can take this program remotely. Instructors are very knowledgeable and patient. You must be willing to give 100% if you want to pass this course and have a passion for the study. Staff are very supportive and willing to answer any questions... Read More you may have.

I was part of C60 sabio, when signing up with Sabio there were statistics of how great their program was and how they helped a substantial amount of graduates find jobs once the cohort was completed.

Unfortunately for my cohort and myself this wasn’t... Read More the case. Out of the 12 members of cohort 60 less than half of us are in a full time coding position.

Our instructor for the cohort was seemingly pushed out near the end of our time which left us with hardly any help for job prospects and assistance. Since our instructor who had worked with us on a daily basis was gone, there was nobody left who could truly speak for us with potential employers.

I have since found employment in a field unrelated to coding but sadly am still left with $20,000 of student loan debt that was used to fund a course that ended up offering no value to me in my career.

Recently, Sabio sent a survey to track where recent cohort grad were in their professional lives so they could use people working full time in marketing. I requested to not be part of their marketing as their course did not help me and have since been removed from their slack channel that was promised to stay open for alumni as an extra resource.

They now have a program in place that requires no money upfront but instead they will take a portion of your salary once fully employed. Lucky for those new students who want to take the risk but for me and many of my cohort members, Sabio left us in debt with no help to actually find a coding career.

Not only was the training at Sabio able to help me get my new job as a software engineer, I'm realizing the smooth transition that the Sabio training has provided into my new position. Coming from a digital marketing background, I had some technical experience... Read More but really nothing close to a software engineer. Knowing that, I was a bit worried about how I'd fit into this new industry and job but what I learned and the coding conventions we practiced were pretty close to what is out there in the real world. It's not to say that they are a magic company that can automatically turn you into a full stack developer. But if you are truly interested and want a program to guide you and your learning in the right direction as you make the next transition, Sabio is the perfect place. Just a quick breakdown, you have 1 month to learn the basics (html,css,javascript,jquery,ajax,etc), a few weeks to learn the main technologies you will be using (for me that was React.js, .Net, and SQL), then you work on a real-world project for a startup by creating a minimum viable product (mvp). Pretty ingenious, but essentially you can legitimately say you have start up experience after you leave the program, in which not many bootcamps/programs offer. I'll be honest, it was a lot of hard work and dedication and a lot of self-learning but if you really want it I would say it was totally worth it. As a nice little cherry on top, I was able to place First at my first hackathon with a team of developers I became friends with at Sabio. Grateful for all the people I've met along the way and the things I was able to experience. Thank you Sabio!

Sabio is amazing! As a person who never graduated from college but always had an intense work ethic, Sabio was the perfect solution for me to get into coding! I worked on a project which was using the stack React, Angular, Mongo, Express, and Node. It is a boot-camp like atmosphere but you have to understand that I came in not knowing how to code and almost freaked me out at first jumping into something that I have never done before but yet always wanted to do. The project that me and my cohort worked on prepared me for my current job as a working developer. There are some very unique things to learn like understanding realistic time frames for features, how code is actually written using best practices, code review for source control, agile/scrum project management, and being able to convey and explain features that I created in a professional manner. There were some people in my cohort that had some experience in coding but you should understand that the program is designed to challenge all levels of developer. I valued every hour that I spent there (70 hours per week) and learned as much as I could from our Senior Developer. I recommend going to a Sabio Info Session and they can explain everything in more detail! As a creative maker/tinkerer person, I understand that knowing how to code is almost like having a super power! You can literally create anything. I thought that Sabio was going to be the one for me. How wrong I was. First off they teach you jquery for your introduction to javascript. Which is a fun language to play with but will not help you in the least when it comes to learning the basics of... Read More javascript. Now that I am interviewing actively not one employer has asked me a jquery question. It's all about vanilla js. So now I am spending my time learning the basics of javascript after spending that vast amount of money learning jquery with Sabio. The instructors are weak in the knowledge of the language. Now I am finding out they taught us old technics that are deprecated in React. It's a disappointment to find out that all the time spent with them was somewhat of a waste. They were nice coming in but once they have your money it's a different story. Staff is rude, especially at the top.

I attended Sabio's .NET program as a military veteran and it was amazing! There's so much to learn about web development and programming, but Sabio's full immersion program with real world projects definitely helped me develop the foundations needed to... Read More land a satisfying career. However, it did not come easy. It required a lot of work and belief in the program to develop the knowledge and confidence to build great applications. No worries though. Sabio's staff and instructors are intelligent and helpful throughout the journey, especially Dan and Daniel. They never left me astray or confused. The only downside to Sabio (Culver City) was that it's located off the busy I405. All-in-all, if you're are self-motivated and love solving problems, go to Sabio! It's worth the traffic.

I first found out about Sabio after attending one of their free Women Code meetups. I had played around with a few free online resources in the months previous, and was trying to cobble together a coding curriculum for myself while I worked full time... Read More as a special educator. I was very interested in pursuing coding and a career change, I just wasn't sure how I was going to make that happen.
What I found at Sabio was an amazing community of people (women and men) who were so supportive and encouraging, who not only believed this type of career change was possible, but had hard evidence to back it up. What makes Sabio different is their commitment to their students. It was evident from the moment I joined that this community cares deeply about changing the landscape of Tech, creating opportunities for what's referred to as "non-traditional" hires in the tech field-- women, people of color, folks without computer science degrees. And even after graduation, the Sabio alumni network, Slack channels and job search support are robust. The founders, Gregorio and Liliana, staff, instructors and alumni are constantly available to answer questions, share job openings, and offer advice. In my first week at a new job, I posted a question on a Sabio Slack channel about the best way to complete a task my new boss had assigned me--Gregorio answered me back in a matter of minutes.
More than that, Sabio's curriculum and work environment are no joke. Pre-work and the 12 weeks that follow are rigorous. Your time in cohort is excellent preparation for the real world of software development - working in a team on a large project, figuring out and researching the best way to complete tasks, debugging, mastering version control snafus, coding and learning, coding and learning non-stop. Because of that and the extensive interview prep and job search support, I was able to get a job a week before bootcamp ended.
All this, despite being 6 months pregnant when I graduated from Sabio! I found out I was pregnant right before I started pre-work. My instructor and cohort-mates could not have been more supportive, and I'm forever grateful to them for being part of this journey with me. Thanks to Sabio I have high paying skills in high demand, inspiration to keep learning, more opportunities than ever before and a brighter future for myself and my growing family. Being 18 I was nervous about being able to land a job after but... Read More I followed the instructions they gave me, and sure enough I landed a job not even 1 month out of the boot camp! That instructors are super helpful and genuine people. They will give you the skills and knowledge you need to become a developer and continue to learn and grow. If you’re debating about it don’t, just jump into it you won’t regret it.
