| Chris Han | Not only was the training at Sabio able to help me get my new job as a software engineer, I'm realizing the smooth transition that the Sabio training has provided into my new position. Coming from a digital marketing background, I had some technical experience but really nothing close to a software engineer. Knowing that, I was a bit worried about how I'd fit into this new industry and job but what I learned and the coding conventions we practiced were pretty close to what is out there in the real world. It's not to say that they are a magic company that can automatically turn you into a full stack developer. But if you are truly interested and want a program to guide you and your learning in the right direction as you make the next transition, Sabio is the perfect place. Just a quick breakdown, you have 1 month to learn the basics (html, css, javascript, jquery, ajax, etc), a few weeks to learn the main technologies you will be using (for me that was React.js, .Net, and SQL), then you work on a real-world project for a startup by creating a minimum viable product (mvp). Pretty ingenious, but essentially you can legitimately say you have start up experience after you leave the program, in which not many bootcamps/programs offer. I'll be honest, it was a lot of hard work and dedication and a lot of self-learning but if you really want it I would say it was totally worth it. As a nice little cherry on top, I was able to place First at my first hackathon with a team of developers I became friends with at Sabio. Grateful for all the people I've met along the way and the things I was able to experience. Thank you Sabio! |
