Attending Beginex's UX career accelerator program was one of the best decisions I ever made. I knew I wanted to make a career shift into UX, but I didn't want to risk quitting my job to attend a much more expensive full-time bootcamp. Beginex was the perfect part-time solution, especially since they moved to a virtual setting instead of in-person in New York (I live in Florida). Doing this course while also working full-time was one of the toughest things I've ever done, but it was all worth it and so rewarding. By the end of the program, I learned more than I ever thought I could in such a short amount of time and I had a portfolio piece showcasing my work for a REAL client! If you're considering attending Beginex, it's important to know that their course is very rigorous and will take up most of your free time. You truly must be committed and dedicated to make it through with the skills and portfolio piece you need to land a job. You also need to do a lot of your own studying outside of the course to complete your assignments and improve the product you're working on. What's more, you work on a team with other students, so it's important that you work well with others and are willing to compromise. If you're looking for a course that provides hand-holding, this is not the course for you. You are expected to step-up and work with your team to figure a lot out by yourselves. You won't be completely alone though, there are mentors who are also there to support you with invaluable advice, as well as comprehensive lessons given by the Head Instructor. I ended up landing a great job with Dell a little over a month after I graduated! I would have never been able to do that without Beginex. Now I am working in a position I love and I'm a part of the amazing Beginex alumni community! |
