I joined Xccelerate a few months after I moved from Toronto to Hong Kong in hopes of understanding more about the UXUI industry. I chose career plus, as I believe it will help me equip all the skills I need to enter the job force. Going into the full time UXUI course, I had no prior experience in UXUI, but I was quickly surprised by how the curriculum and the culture forces us to go outside of our comfort zone, and constantly challenge ourselves. As a result, other than learning the fundamentals of UXUI, we're applying what we learn in or client projects (provided by the course). I feel very lucky to have great mentors and resources at my disposal, and the way we learn is very agile and out of the box. It means that we learn through doing, instead of being fed lectures all day. We have to be creative and resourceful in order to succeed at our tasks. On top of that, through the connections from the staff and mentors, I've created meaningful connections with not only my classmates, mentors, but also people from various industries, which is extremely valuable to me as an individual and also as a UXUI designer in the tech field. I definitely feel confident as a UXUI designer and I have already received some job offers from people I know, as well as LinkedIn scouters. 10/10 would recommend if anyone is interested in getting into the tech industry/upskill their IT skills in Hong Kong. One thing tho-I highly recommend the full-time courses over the part time ones, as it provides an immersive experience and you'll have a lot to showcase after the entirety of the bootcamp!
