Courses are taught in-person, at the Schenectady Community College Albany Extension. Each class includes 1-on-1 instructor assistance, self-study, labs, assignments, team projects, and interactions with mentors from area employers. Albany Can Code aims to give students a structure to learn a well-rounded set of skills that are relevant to local employers. The curriculum uses online materials, books, and labs to ensure hands-on practice, in person, with peers and instructors to keep you on track.
Applicants should be committed to a career in software, and have some practice with learning computer languages. Applicants should also have the drive to learn new things, with habits and attitudes that support ongoing learning, and the aptitude and passion for code.
Albany CanCode is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit supported by grants, sponsorships, and income earned for the workforce and K-12 program and curriculum and program development.
