Code Ramp

Course Description:

Code Ramp is a 6-week part-time course (12 hours/week) geared towards beginners with little-to-no experience programming. During the course, students will learn the fundamentals of coding through the Javascript programming language. In addition, students will also learn techniques and best practices for technical interviews. At the end of the course, students will be comfortable with entry-level programming concepts and have a better sense of whether or not software development may be a career they would like to pursue.

Code Ramp++

Course Description:

Our 6-week Code Ramp++ program (6 hours/week) is taught by volunteers from around the Bay Area’s top technology companies. Through this course, students deepen their understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, learn best practices, and are introduced to testing. Week 6 ends with mock interviews and practicing each student’s problem solving approach.

Computer Literacy Program

Course Description:

A 4-week program (8 hours/week) that teaches students computer and smartphone proficiency through lectures, assignments and real-world exercises. This begins with a fundamental knowledge and understanding of the history of computers and the Internet. Students gain confidence in navigating any computer, including Apple OS and Microsoft Windows operating software. Web applications including Google Drive, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Zoom are all covered.

Pre-Code Ramp

Cost: Free
Duration: 3 weeks

Course Description:

Pre-Code Ramp is a 3-week course (6 hours/week) geared towards beginners with little-to-no experience programming. Over the course of 6 classes, students will learn the fundamentals of HTML and CSS, key skills for Front-End Web Development. HTML provides the basic structure of sites, whereas CSS is used to add styles, formatting, and layout. This course is a prerequisite to our Code Ramp course.
