Course Description:

The objective of this course is to further educate participants to the deeper concepts of programming and computer science. Participants are recommended to have prior knowledge in fundamental programming methodologies.

This equips the participant with the skills to further explore the world of technology and computer science, enabling them to be independent, future-ready, anticipate and prepared to venture into the world of technology.

Through lab sessions, seminar-styled teaching, action learning sets, the participants will accumulate a series of programming skills through active learning. The focus will be on functional outcomes such as being able to; (1) Gain further knowledge in programming, learnt through the Python language, (2) Learn how to adopt computational thinking practices when solving problems, a skill not exclusive to the software industry, (3) An understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms, concepts which are key tenets in the world of Software, (4) Be prepared to venture into practical fields such as App Development and Machine Learning.

The assessment method will focus on the participant’s ability to apply deeper concepts of computational skills that will have an impact on their future approach towards programming.

The objective of this course is train participants on the key skills required to be aware of the skills required in technical interviews for software-related roles and build upon the foundations that participants acquired from the pre-requisite courses to advanced concepts of programming and computer science. Participants are
recommended to have prior knowledge in fundamental programming methodologies.

This equips the participant with the skills to further explore the world of technology and computer science, enabling them to be independent, future-ready, anticipate and prepared to venture into the world of technology.

Through lab sessions, seminar-styled teaching, action learning sets, the participants will accumulate a series of programming skills through active learning. The focus will be on functional outcomes such as being able to; (1) Learn about advanced data structures and algorithms to equip themselves with a more robust problem solving toolbox. (2) Heighten their skills in computational thinking, such that they will be able to aptly spot the nuances in complex problems and thus approach them with the right data structure / algorithm (3) Learn about and prepare for popular technical interview questions. (4) Be prepared to venture into practical fields such as App Development and Machine Learning

The focus will be on functional outcomes such as being able to; (1) Gain a strong foundation in programming methodologies, learnt through the Python language, (2) Learn not just about the python programming language, but understand intuitively about core methods and how to they function at a low level (3) Learn how to use programming in applicable real life situations to solve problems (4) Be prepared to begin their journey in applicable fields like data analytics / machine learning / web development
