It is not an easy course to go through while working full time, but worth it if you are seriously thinking of learning to write code. I had some basic understanding of how an application works having done some intro classes at university and some beginner level python while completing online courses, but all paled in comparison to what I ended up learning throughout the course. It also helped me to realise there is much more to web/application development than just writing code and I’ve learned a lot about crucial stuff like dev environment, different technologies, troubleshooting and planning your own project. Before the bootcamp I would start a lot of different projects that would not go far at all as I couldn't even do basic CSS. I managed to complete bootcamp with loads of theoretical knowledge but also with three good projects, that I continued to work on afterwards and which helped me to get me a job as a developer. I was also able to cover topics that were not part of curriculum, but I asked and received additional support/advise. Just knowing there will be someone to help you troubleshoot your code was an amazing feeling and I miss that a lot! Learning environment was also friendly and encouraging. We were a small group, and it did not feel intimidating to ask questions and for additional help. Both instructors would often respond even over the weekend and have provided additional material (such as additional video recordings or code files) on more difficult topics. I met some amazing people and found the group project phase fun and engaging, but also a useful life like experience on building a project as a team. All the materials we received and live class recordings are available post bootcamp and I’ve used them for interview prep as well as a point of reference while working on my projects. Overall, I learned a lot, found a job as a developer and met some incredible people - could not ask for more :)

Read More The curriculum is very well designed and the teachers and TAs are phenomenal at explaining complicated concepts and breaking down the problems into smaller steps, while encouraging you to think and find the solutions on your own. Apart from that, you also have an inclusive community that offers support during, and also after the bootcamp. When I finished the bootcamp I could hardly believe the amount of new information that I learned and that, with a lot of hard work, patience and perseverance it was possible to transition to full stack development in such a short time!

On the other hand, English is not my native language, and for me, that was an extra challenge. To be honest, I was a little scared about everything. Then, I read my options for payment, and I enrolled in Student Finance as my first option, and I had the impression that it was so great to be true! In this part, I have to say, that is totally true, in fact, during the process, they explained the a few times the deal and make sure you understand all the details and what are your responsibilities and your benefits. Everything is clear as water. This was a most in my decision to take the full-time Bootcamp, so I made my decision and signed for CodeOp in full-time modality. Since the first day, I learned a lot of things, about code and about myself. This journey is super intense, full of knowledge, and rewarding at the same proportion. After 3 months of finishing it, and with the support of my coach career, I got an offer job as a JavaScript Developer and of course my agreement with StudentFinance is running exactly as we arranged.

In the end I found CodeOp and chose to take the part-time full stack development bootcamp. The learning experience was wonderful and I enjoyed the entire journey: The course was very well designed: intense but manageable (FE, BE, DB all covered). ALL content is useful: from theory leaning to different project phases, every session is designed to help us to build the knowledge system. Also the tutors are very experienced, patient, and always eager to help sometimes even out of office hour. I started the course with 0 coding knowledge and finished it by creating 2 full-stack projects!! I was worried as I started the CopeOp Product Manager Bootcamp in April, I wasn't sure that I would make it to the end. But after that first class, I was sold. The lessons were very well developed and using Trello to share weekly reading lists and assignments... Read More was just genius. The topics were taught in a way that built up knowledge from one lesson to another. And the instructor, Romina Aswani, made sure that she was available for one on one's to make sure that you could go over concepts that you were having issues with. I was also able to take what I was learning and apply it to my day to day work outside of class. But the one thing that elevated this for me was that the experience wasn't like being in a class; it was a community. CodeOp created an environment that went beyond teaching skills but fostered between the participants and their team a sense of community and collaboration. My coursemates and I shared and support each other. We grew in confidence as we got to know each other and worked through tough concepts and real-life experiences that affected us especially in the course of a pandemic. As I prepare to take all I've learnt and continue to learn from the CodeOp team that still supports us, and the community forged with the rest of the community.
