Codify Academy is an amazing coding bootcamp! Their system really works only if you're willing to put in the time to learn. They will help get you there from point A to point B. If you get stuck, they will help you remotely, over the phone, and even in person until you get it. I started out rusty with the basic html and css but toward the end of fourth month, I started coding like I've been doing for years.
Thank you Matt & Issac!
My dive into development was tough to say the least. Like a lot of beginners I struggled with self teaching and was deterred by my lack of a computer science degree. Words couldn't describe my relief at finding Codify Academy, they offered the structure and discipline I was missing and put me on track to becoming the developer/designer I am today. Like many other San Franciscans I lacked the resources and ability to enroll myself in a FT bootcamp in the city. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I wanted to be a front end developer but at the time there was no bootcamp that offered exactly what I needed; Until I found Codify Academy. Their part time program and guaranteed financing are what brought me to where I am today.
I was lucky enough to have Brian Jenney as my instructor an...Read more
I absolutely loved my journey with Codify and it helped me reach my goal. I started Codify as a Student and loved it so much that I decided to become a Student Mentor after my course ended.
We got a lot of cool projects to work on , which helped me gain hands on experience and I could showcase all these awesome projects in my portfolio. The classes are very interactive and a lot of fun! Just within a week after my course ended, I had three offer letters. They gave me proper guidance to crack the interviews and also helped me choose the job.
The best part about Codify is that you keep connected even after your course gets over. It's like you become a part of the Codify family. They have so many workshops and 'magic hours' open for current and alumni students which helps one stay upda...
I'm sure we can all agree that we were nervous and unsure about attending a Bootcamp before we got into it but my experience with Codify Academy was nothing short of amazing. I was still in the beginning stages of my C.S classes in college and always knew that I wanted to be a full-time dev but didn't know how to get started. C.A was able to provide me with the direction and support to help me understand what I couldn't on my own. The mentors were great - they created the perfect atmosphere for people who had never been exposed to code which made it easier for everyone to understand the content. Next to the curriculum, I feel the most valuable thing that they taught was the ability to learn something new and being able to apply it to something else. *This is a message to all of those wh...Read more
I just finished this course and the experience has been fantastic. Before I joined Codify I researched different bootcamps and I needed a school that was flexible to my work schedule and Codify delivered. I was offered all the tools needed to succeed. Everything we need is made available to us and me having absolutely no prior coding experience before, to now I feel a whole lot more confident of my abilities and have a plethora of projects finished and my portfolio that is looking very snazzy! I am amazed of what is possible now and it is all thanks to Codify Academy!
Matt has built an incredible company with his brothers, and his ability to teach others (in a positive and engaging fashion) is wonderfully infectious- he gets the best out of his students. Towards the end of our coding Bootcamp, Matt was our career counselor mentor and provided us with invaluable game plans to ensure our job hunt success after the program. Codify Academy feels more like a family than anything else and that’s a testament to the owners’ visions.
I worked hard every single day, constantly pushed my limits on projects, built a portfolio of 10 websites/apps and had interviews by week 14. Life Changing Experience at the Best Bootcamp Price in San Francisco. What are you waiting for?
Codify Academy has been an amazing experience for me. A little about myself when I started the course I was 21 years old working dead end jobs that required little skill. I felt I was doomed to stay at these jobs until I complete my bachelors in business administration which will still take me 5 years from now. I was feeling the need to learn a new skill that will give me a high pay & find something that will challenge me instead of repetitiveness. My search ended when I ran into Codify.
I came to the SF office where the course was going to be taught to meet the instructor & get a general sense of the course & concepts I would be learning. They asked me if I'm up to the task & put in the time to learn what it takes to be a front end web developer. I said "I was ready to grab the bull...Read more
Two years ago I was a student, and twelve weeks in I got a position as a web developer, changing my life and career trajectory in ways I never imagined. The other people who stuck out the course also got jobs and are happily employed as devs in the Bay Area as well. The course is project based and you spend a lot of time making projects at home (think about 15 hours a week or so).
If you like lecture based, theory heavy CS type course work then this is not your bag of skittles (I just made that saying up) but if you're looking to get job ready as a front end dev and are self-motivated then I would totally suggest the course.
I now teach part time (still full time web devving 9-5 M-F) and have seen the school improve their program, create a formal jobs program and dramatically re...Read more

I started just like you. I was searching for a bootcamp to make a transition in my career and met with lots of different bootcamps, one of them being Codify Academy, so I had an initial meeting with Sam Brody, one of the three co-founders. At your first meeting, you will recognize a pattern at this bootcamp and especially in Sam. He’s a salesman. He will sugar-coat every word that comes out of his mouth, all so that you decide to put your valuable and hard-working money and time at their bootcamp… but don’t fall for this. The value and impact you get from this bo...Read more
Codify Academy, also known as CA, claims to be a “Part Time Program that Teaches You How to Become a Front End Developer in 16 Weeks”. But half-way through my time at the program, 6 out 12 of my classmates had dropped out due to the bad experience they were having. By the end of the course, only 4 of the 12 students remained.
With two weeks left to finish the course I decided to withdraw after they offered me and my classmate a “job” as UNPAID TA’s for their incoming classes. I had 2 issues with this.
1. This seems to imply that they do not value their own graduates worth if they do not feel the need to pay them.
2. The quality of of their mentors and TA’s. If I accepted the position, I could have been your TA with no computer science degree and zero teach...
Dear Adam, We've just been reading your review and we want to let you know that we still feel that you are a superstar student! We know that somewhere between starting and success something happened that caused you to lose faith in our system, anytime this happens we all feel mortified that either through our actions or the actions of the staff that work here someone will not fulfill their dream of becoming a creator. Just in case anyone reads this who is thinking about hiring you or researching you online, we want to list out some of the awesome accomplishments you had while you were here, because you worked diligently and that should be recognized. You always came in with a friendly smiling personality, which is difficult to do as taking 16 weeks to intensely learn a new skill can wear on anybody. When you started bringing in freelance clients for yourself and Richard (while you were still students), we were more than happy to open up our space to you guys. We were incredibly impressed that you were able to go out and start your own business from scratch. We loved watching you take the time out of your day to help other students who were not as advanced as you. Which is why we were hoping you would help out as a TA. I know you were not able to start the jobs program because of the withdrawal but we really do believe in your potential, we would be more than happy to sit down with you one on one again and plot out a course where you could start the jobs program and get hired. I have pasted the Grit Guarantee below so you can see that as long as you complete a set number of items and are still not hired in 6 months you get a full refund. Otherwise please feel free to call us at 415-530-1557. GRIT GUARANTEE. This Contract will terminate automatically upon completion by Codify Academy of the Services required by this Contract. I was in college for Business Administration when I started teaching myself frontend development. I was making progress with my self-learning but kept hitting roadblocks and didn’t have anyone to go to with questions. After reading about Codify Academy online and talking with Matt and Sam via phone calls and Skype, I knew it was what I had been looking for. I packed my bags, moved to San Francisco and haven’t looked back since. I am now a Web Designer/Frontend Developer at Vulcun, an eSports startup in the city. I look forward to going to work every morning because I get to do what I love and see real people use the things I design and build. I would not be where I am today without the ongoing support and guidance I got from Codify Academy.
- Codify is run by three brothers who started out as programmers themselves, so they have great hands-on experience.
- Price-point for course is relatively inexpensive compared to other bootcamps
- All textbooks are included in the price, as well as your first domain/hosting service for a year (where you will showcase your portfolio of sites/apps you build)
- They hold weekday evening workshops every once in a while and will often provide a meal then, as well as snacks (fresh fruit) during regular weekly meetings
- I would really like to give these guys a few more stars but I really can't . To start off, Codify is misleading and tells potential students that they are "ready to be hired" at the end of the 16 weeks. In reality, when applying for positions ...
Codify was the best decision I've made to advance career. After researching different boot camps for a little over a year and calling 5 different camps and asking my long list of questions, Codify stood out as affordable, flexible, and reputable. After attending the first class, Codify blew me away with their teaching style, support, and encouragement. Within a year, I doubled my salary and earned my dream job, working as a front end developer in the gaming industry. Best money I ever spent hands down.
Codify Academy was a great and intense 16 week program. For cheaper than what a semester at your typical college cost, you'll learn top of the line programming skills that will qualify you for multiple well paying front-end developer jobs as well as freelancing for people who need a flexible schedule. Even after graduation, mentors are readily available to help with interview prep and projects to insure your long-term success.
If you're serious about becoming a developer and career advancement, Codify is definitely the place for you.
There are a lot of bootcamps out there that teach web development. I say without hesitation that Codify Academy is among the best out there. They gave me the skills I needed to get a job as a front end web developer. The thing I liked the most was how available the instructors were when I had questions and damn; I had a lot of them. I definitely recommend them if you're looking to gain some coding chops.
They taught me how to code, they helped me get a job, what more can I say? If you're trying to figure out which program to take, make it this one. These guys do it all and have a great time doing it. If you're on the fence, get off and sign up before the next spots are filled.
If you're looking for a coding bootcamp that forces you to be on site and working in groups for 90+ hours/week and/or if your motivation to learn and grow derives from external pressure, then Codify might not be right experience for you.
Codify is all about what you make it. From 15hrs/week (minimum) up to 15hrs/day: you're in control of how intense your learning experience is going to be. I personally spent every minute eating, breathing and sleeping code. I got what i wanted: a job as a software engineer, with no prior coding experience.
The mentors are incredibly nice and cool dudes that really, really care about your future and what your goals are. They also help you out with extra projects you want to work on (i was working on a fashion app). You're not just another student i...Read more
This course was great. The delivered what they promised and much more. When I started I had been trying to teach my self coding for about 2 months. I learned more in the first week than I did the entire 2 months of trying to teach myself. Now I can make full websites from scratch. In terms of the job search they were super helpful. They consulted me after every interview, phone or in person. They critiqued my resume several times, and helped me find all the best avenues to apply on. I now have an awesome job, and am making a pretty penny too. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn front end development.
