Pros - Covered the entire process of creating a web application from planning to completion. - Curriculum is well structured and project oriented. - Instructors are great at explaining complex topics in ways that are understandable. Cons - SQL is taught using mostly SQLZoo, which is painfully boring and hard to stay engaged with. - Price, so make sure you dedicate yourself to it.

There is a world of learning to do when it comes to software development and dCC does it well, starting with the right fundamentals that will help you to understand more complex languages and libraries... By the end of the course, you’re truly able to create something entirely from scratch, front end and back end and to be able to do that from previously knowing nothing is an incredible testament to dCC’s teaching ability.

This will give you the ability to be able to quickly learn any coding language in the future. The career support at the end of the program will keep you on track on what you need to focus on for your job search. They are also there to do mock technical or behavioral interviews with you. The students are committed to learning and helping each other out. The career service lead Megan and Paul - (Da Man! ), did a tremendous job helping me transition to my first software developer role, several months after I graduated. DevCodeCampreally built an incredible community with good people, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to break into the software development field.

You will be challenged and get frustrated, but I believe the teaching style is very effective. The curriculum focuses on today's most relevant technologies to get you job-ready upon completion of the course. At times I wish there were more code demos to confirm you were going about the problem in an effective way, but instructors are always available to answer your individual questions. I am sure the instructors would have been happy to do a demo on any particular project/assignment if the class asked. As with most learning opportunities in life, how much you get out of it is up to you. The structure, tools, and support are provided for you to take advantage of and get the results you hoped for. If you come in like many of us with no coding experience, you will look back at how much you learned in three months and soon realize how impressive it is. Trust their process and enjoy learning.
