Developers Institute

During my confinement and short-time work, I wanted to take the opportunity to learn how to code and develop technical skills.
I then discovered the bootcamp Developers.Institute by Mégane and Avner, and they explained to me the training approach and the... Read More organization. Our exchanges comforted me, and I liked their kindness and their dynamic state of mind. I registered quickly, and I immediately plunged into the great bath of web code, without knowing anything about it before. And I loved it!
The particularity was that all the courses were by zoom (thank you covid), and that didn't bother me at all!
The teachers adapt themselves to each student's level, and take the time to explain and help the students. The rhythm was intense but the program was well adapted to be followed.
And then, the different exercises or projects that we are given to do allow us to immediately put into practice and learn faster.
It was really a great experience, where I was able to meet people from different backgrounds, and at the end of which I really acquired a sufficient technical layer to move forward!
Moreover, the Developers.Institute teams continue to support us and remain available if we have any questions or needs.

Developers Institute was quite a journey.
I started the bootcamp late, with no background in development. I was 2 weeks behind the rest of the class, but the full support of all the staff, and an extra one on one hours helped me to fill in the gap. The... Read More process of learning to code is not an easy one, but Developers institute gives you all the support you need to succeed. They will go beyond and still let you achieve milestones on the way by yourself, which is an important part of learning, that gives you the confidence to keep going.
I can say that dedication, time, and strong will are all on you, but the tools, and learning curve to make it? leave it to them, they are the experts.
At the end of the day, I achieved what I needed, and it was one of the best education decisions I made for my career. 

The interaction and discussion helps with the thought process and to try different methods and ways to code. Before the course I had zero knowledge of coding but now I can confidently make websites and applications.
They also help you with all the documents... Read More that you need for official procedures.
The only cons that I felt is that the course needs to spend more time on topics like deploying applications on the web.
I highly recommend the course for anyone who wants to start their coding journey.

Great experience overall, the learning platform is great, the teachers really care about the students and they are always receiving feedback and looking for ways to improve.
The pace of the bootcamp is very intense, and you really need to put a lot of... Read More time and effort after the lessons in order to complete the assignments and consolidate what you've learned.
It is important to understand, that you will still need to put a lot of effort by yourself in order to really learn the topics
. The course covers a lot of ground and unless you're willing to put the extra hours and complete the assignments, you won't succeed.

We also had a couple of great workshops that prepared us for the job market.

During corona I was unable to attend the full time course in person most days so I was one of the guinea pigs for their part online, part in person bootcamp. It had it's more difficult moments especially in the beginning but it also had tons of great... Read More moments, and my feedback was welcomed and taken on board. All in all I learned a ton and really enjoyed the classes and the teachers. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and seemed to be available for questions at all hours. The bootcamp helped me find an internship when the program was finished which has been great so far. I think if you are looking to get into coding, this is a great place to start. My only downside would be that I think the course should have levels since there are people who are naturally more inclined towards coding or come in with previous knowledge and experience and people who need more attention. At times the varying levels meant the more advanced students having to relearn things for days that they already understood or the less advanced students feeling lost and struggling to keep up so I think there would be a large advantage to splitting the classes. A big pro to note about the course is that the support and education doesn't end when the bootcamp does, you can come back and sit in classes of future classes whenever you want including to classes that they add to the syllabus. They are planning on adding a bit about machine learning to the next groups syllabus and I will definitely be back for that!

The course is very professional. There is always something to learn, even if you come with knowledge beforehand, they will always help you learn more in depth.

First of all, I have to emphasize their amazing Customer Care. For those whom may not know, Customer Care is when they go above the traditional Customer Service and are always checking on you, if everything is alright, if the course is meeting our expectations,... Read More etc. They also always ask for feedback (every week at least once) on how to improve, what we are liking and disliking about it. Both Avner and Megane (the direct owners of the course) are always available through Slack, e-mail, phone calls, however we prefer. Having this constant direct contact with whom really matters and noticing that they actually care about our individual experiences would be amazing by itself (specially here in Israel). But of course, the content of the course and the way the course is directed are on point. The whole course is shaped in a way that won't make you learn everything in class and then ask for that same knowledge on the exercises, instead, you learn the tools and foundations at class, and then you have to struggle and put that knowledge to prove and do a lot of self learning to be able to beat all the Daily Challenges (yes, daily and in the plural, it is an intensive course, and even though 3 months may seem not that much, I can say for myself that I am a whole new person after this Bootcamp). Because the course is always driven in a way that makes us understand the proper mindset for a developer, when we reach the last two weeks, for our final project, we don't feel that someone is taking the wheels of our bike and throwing us in a BMX ramp. Instead, we reach that point fairly comfortable with what we have learned so far and how to learn whatever we need to reach what we want with our Final Project. Of course this is the fruit of their amazing Teachers and Staff (that are all always available as well), Teacher Assistants that are real developers and many times knew how to easily answer questions we couldn't find anywhere else (Avi Buchman >>>>>>> Stackoverflow) and an organized and coherent curriculum that makes sense and actually point us towards the right direction in the path of becoming Full Stack Software Engineers.

I highly recommend to anyone that would like to learn how to Code, just make sure to come with the proper mindset, ready to learn A LOT and ready to put the required effort and you will surely love it as much as I did!

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Developer's Institute. From the first day I was mind blown by how much I learned. I've never had so much fun in "school." The style of learning and level of exercises is flexible for each student's... Read More needs. All the staff are always supportive and encouraging. Our teachers really gave us the knowledge and tools to be able to solve problems on our own. There is a good balance of working together with classmates or working by yourself, both important skills. The reward of solving problems and exercises, especially after being stuck for a while, really fuels you!!

The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and I became best friends with my classmates. Having coding knowledge is so important, and this course is the perfect foundation for many career paths. The course really brought together the full picture of how to create web applications, use the command line, connect databases and code. Going forward the opportunities are endless for what my classmates and I will be able to accomplish. I'm very grateful for the experience and I absolutely recommend this course for everyone!!
