Surprisingly, 2020 was not as bad as the world made it sounds like. I, personally, had the chance of being part of an amazing Coding Bootcamp, the developers institute in Tel Aviv, where I successfully graduated as a Full Stack developer in Python (using... Read More Flask and mainly Django).
I will remember my first hackathon as a great memory. I have to emphasise the involvement of every staff member and their quality of teachings while SFH (studying from home). Big ShoutOut to Jonathan & Avi for their passion, professionalism, and empathy while sharing their knowledge with us. Certainly, it was overwhelming and very tiring sometimes but definitely worth it when I managed to build my first full-stack websites. Grateful for all the weekly challenges I had to complete. Overall great content and great follow-up with the students. I am looking forward to starting my career in development and coding systems. And can't to continue learning more & more 🤓

For anyone who is seeking to learn about web development and programming at all, this bootcamp is a great place to start.
Like all bootcamps it has it's merits and it's downsides, but overall it is great.

The most important thing is that this program let's you understand, somewhat, how it is to be a developer and what is required of a developer to succeed.

I have not experienced any "cons" from this institute, I really believe they are best for getting started and I am comparing this to other bootcamps that my friends and previous colleagues attended in Israel.

This is my first time at the bootcamp and I would like to highlight some of the benefits of participating in the bootcamp.

The most satisfying feeling after completing the bootcamps is knowing that you know. The empowerment that comes from understanding, creating and vizualiting your code gives you the motivation to continue your developer path, that should know its a continuous... You get to that feeling thanks to the knowledge and support of the staff and your carefully selected classmates, together they become the best platform to enter such a competitive and diverse industry. I came with almost no coding pride and left feeling that I could take in almost any project.

All programs have pluses and minuses, here are some of the major points that I found over my course of study.

I want to start by pointing out that any bootcamp graduate I talked to said that after the program you will need an additional month or two to... Read More continue studying independantly. There are concepts outside of the scope of the course (for example I would read up on Linux/bash and make sure to get a very solid undrstanding of language basics, for Python for example generators, decorators, data structures, etc).

The biggest thing that could be improved are stronger code reviews and follow ups on corrections built into the program. It would also be good to have a little more concrete feedback on what concepts I needed to improve on (the course has no tests or grades which is a trade-off between being held to a standard and having a low stress learning environment).

The benefits are that the team will work tirelessly to make sure that you feel confident about your understanding of coding. The atmosphere around learning was incredibly positive and supportive, which is something I really appreciated. Also, if you push yourself I have found the team to be very helpful in finding jobs and internships after the course. Another very large plus is continued access to the learning platform and materials (even for classes outside of your own).

All in all I would strongly recommend this program, especially for those looking for a positive learning environment with a lot of support. That said, students get what they put into it, and you need to hold yourself to a high standard and reach out for help to feel these benefits.
