The 10 day coding course with IOC is awesome! I had no coding experience at all and after just 10 days had built 3 websites and decided to make a complete career change after 10yrs in another industry. The course is structured so well with a good mix of learning and some down time to process what you're learning, the villa was beautiful and the food incredible! The IOC team and the mentors were all so supportive and the ongoing support is a great help! My favourite part of the course was meeting the amazing people that were all there for different and inspiring reasons! I would definitely recommend this course to anyone thinking about learning code for any reason, the environment IOC have created to learn is perfect!
I loved the intensive boot camp learning environment and thoroughly enjoyed my time learning and practicing my new coding skills. Classroom time is perfectly balanced with social activities so that you feel like although you learned a ton, you also had a chance to see more than just the inside of a classroom. The villa we stayed at was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable, and the meals we had prepared for us were very tasty and healthy. We had plenty of one-on-one time with the mentors which was a huge help for me when I was stuck on some concepts and needed extra help, and other times when I felt comfortable to move forward and learn new things on my own. Another thing that has been great is all of the after-class support that we've received. Anytime I run into an issue I know I can ask m...Read more
I attended university and earned a marketing management bachelors degree, expecting to thrive in the world of digital marketing. However, I soon came to realize that the kind of marketing I'm passionate about, digital/social media/creative and content marketing, isn't really taught in college. It's such a new industry and the only real way to learn about it is to study under the professionals in this arena - so I came to Bali and studied at Institute of Code for that very reason. Influencer marketing, social media marketing, photography, videography, editing, blogging, modern marketing...all these concepts were taught in a laid-back, no BS environment that fostered an incredible learning experience. In fact, I can confidently say that I learned more about creative marketing in this sing...Read more
This bootcamp had the perfect balance of intensive study with a laidback, calm setting. This made it so much more motivating to learn. It really did feel like a dream. I met some of the most interesting people from all over the world. The staff was so professional, caring and detailed. I so much appreciated the activities that kept our brains stimulated and healthy foods that kept our bodies energized.
I was more and more impressed each day by the new things I learned and by how much knowledge they had about everything. It wasn’t hard to tell that they worked their asses off to make sure we understood every subject, that we were accommodated in any way, and that we were always safe.
I would recommend this to anyone, there’s no doubt this is the best bootcamp out there.
I’d been wanting to do an IOC web course for a while and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had! Everything from the IOC team to the people in the course you meet to the food to the location, it’s just a completely unique concept. I’d had no experience in coding at all but found it easy to follow along and found the whole learning process really enjoyable. What you can achieve in 10 days is really amazing. Highly recommend IOC to anyone!
I attended IOC’s coding bootcamp and went from zero to hero in 10 days. I had no HTML or css experience and I built a website that was far more challenging than I originally anticipated.
The mentors were incredibly helpful and made sure I got the website to where it needed to be before the course was over, not to mention they provided further assistance over Skype in the weeks following the bootcamp.
Apart from that, I met some absolutely incredible people, had so many amazing experiences and ate some of the best food I’ve ever tasted in Bali!
I first learned about the Institute of Code two years ago while on vacation in Bali. I had no idea what kind of coding bootcamp they exactly were but I was excited to learn more. I was working full-time as a Graphic Designer and wasn't sure how to start my journey into coding. I started following the IOC on Instagram and quickly realized they were serious about coding, teaching and of course, completely legit ;) Being from Canada, I wanted to make sure that traveling all the way to Bali (for a second time) would be worth my energy, time and money. I also really wanted to make sure I would be learning real-world skills from the ground up.
The IOC did not disappoint. I started with very little knowledge of HTML and CSS and in 10 days completely learned how to build a website. And not o...Read more
I attend the Institute of Code to befger my understanding of social media and marketing, but came away with so much more. I haven’t stopped talking about the course since I’ve gone and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The staff, the mentors and everyone involved is of the highest professional standard and all key players in their field. If you’re even considering it, or haven’t even thought about going, do it! You won’t regret it.
I have worked in Financial Services for over 15 years in Australia, US and Asia and launched my own business as a Business & Digital Strategist 6mths prior to attending Web Dev Intensive at IOC. Over the past 15 years one of my greatest frustrations when working with Business Development Campaigns and Digital Marketing strategies was when I was told by Web Dev teams - it can't be done or too hard. I also wanted to have my own business website so I decided to invest in myself travel to beautiful Bali and come back home to Australia with a tan and a website. The support from the IOC team began from my initial enquiry and is still ongoing today. I have a number of dietary requirements due to severe food allergies and this was all taken care of. I did not have to worry about single thing ...Read more
Had an amazing time with IOC!! Originally I joined them because I missed so much info at school about social media, etc. But soon I realised what a wonderful people are behind the screens & knowing what I know now, it made my journey to my future dreamjob a lot more reasonable!
I have only good things to say about IOC, endless good things. It being in beautiful Bali is merely a bonus! The mind blowing, eye opening information they teach you on this course is incredible, and with that, one of the most important parts of this course is how much belief the founders and mentors invest in you, and how much one to one attention they give to you.
I came in, sort of clueless, and I left inspired to build a life for myself that would be nothing less than fulfilling. As soon as I returned to England I began applying all of the lessons they taught me, and now 3 months later I am running my own business! On top of all of this, I met and learned the importance of being surround by like minded people - I made some INCREDIBLE friends there, and shared experiences I will n...Read more
Who knew 2 weeks in Bali, with complete strangers and a packed schedule full of classes, workshops and early morning adventures would be so incredibly life changing. Those strangers turned into friendships. Those classes filled our minds with knowledge. Those workshops infused our world with creative energy. And those early morning adventures made our souls dance to rhythm of the earth. 🌏
The Institute of Code exceeded any and ALL expectations. Their passion for teaching others shines through each one their staff and mentors, and lights up the room with this creative, inspiring energy that is super contagious. The environment they created is brilliant. I came to this course with very basic knowledge of social media and I came out with a plethora of information for social media, mark...
I recently partook in the Web Development Bootcamp that Institute Of Code has to offer and all I can say is....WOW.
This course beyond exceeded my expectations and left me feeling more empowered and inspired than ever. I had very minimal experience with web development and have always been interested in learning the ropes of the website world, however, I was unable to find a course that both suited my budget and my life schedule.
When I stumbled across IOC's Instagram page, something instantly clicked and I just knew that I had to sign up. Their course offered everything that I had been searching for - AND it was within my budget (winning!!)
Travelling to Bali and surrounding myself with likeminded individuals and talented mentors was the best thing that I have ever done. It ...Read more
I'll be straight-forward: attending IOC's Web Development Bootcamp last December was one of the best investments I've ever made in my career. Or I should say the best. I don't even know where to start. The villa was a dream come true and the food was unbeatable (I've been addicted to smoothie bowls for breakfast since then), and the extra activities came perfect to help our brains loosen up after a day of full-on learning. Tina and her team had the vision of making us feel the best so we could absorb as much as possible in the classes. And guys, did that happen! We were taken care of like queens and kings. And the learning atmosphere was just intense (in the best way possible)!
I had decided to re-focus my career to graphic design and website creation (which I always loved), so it co...Read more
2017 would be so different for me if I didn't go on this amazing intensive coding bootcamp with Institute of Code. I remember being nervous in enquiry emails because I had zero coding knowledge, but Terry assured me before I took the plunge that I didn't need any experience and that it was all setup to help us learn and support us in every way possible.
Set in beautiful Bali... in a beautiful villa... catered food (thank you for catering wonderful vegan meals).. a fridge full of assorted beverages... it was the perfect environment for learning to code. If I had tried to learn this back in Sydney, amongst full time work and life in general ... I don't think I would have come away with the passion and knowledge that I have now for code. Tina, Emile and the IOC team are the most supportiv...
IOC opened my eyes to the world of well, being able to work and travel the world. I went there not knowing exactly what I was doing and left inspired with a whole new business perspective and a sleek new agency website to match.
I ended up living in Bali for 9 months after attending the course, and have been able to support myself through the business I began to build while attending the retreat.
I continue to enjoy the friendship I made and am thankful for the ongoing support of mentors, long after the course itself has ended.
I attended the Institute of Code's February 2017 bootcamp in Bali. I'm not the type of person who can just switch off and relax by the pool, so for me, it was the perfect balance of travel experience and professional development. Code hard, play hard.
The venue, course structure, content, mentors, follow up support and my fellow classmates all exceeded my expectations.
It was genuinely the best investment I've ever made in my profe...Read more
As soon as I landed in Bali, all my needs were taken care of. They picked me up at the airport, had welcome snacks when I arrived at their stunning villa. I was so excited to call it home for two weeks. I was a bit skeptical about the course at first, worried it would be more of a vacation than an actual classroom experience but I was so wrong. Every day we headed straight into the classroom and spent the whole day getting real, hands on experience. It was great. I left after ten days and have already landed 2 different jobs! I am so grateful for everything that I was able to learn so quickly.
Being a student at IOC, with mentors to help wherever they can (even at 11pm, when you're still excessively coding), is the best way to improve your coding skills!
The team is the best! Apart from learning how to code we also experienced the Bali lifestyle.
I never made progress of that kind in such a short time! I am now able to build my own websites from scratch!
Thank you IOC team for the unforgettable experience and teaching me how to code!
Ah The Institute of Code :) forever embedded in my memory as one of the better choices I've made in terms of my life/career. This experience is a mixture of really intense and focused learning, insane food/amenities, inspiring teachers in a moment that means you are connected with your cohort for long after your course has finished.
I did an in depth review of the experience on my blog so I have taken an excerpt from it about the v.important question - will I really learn how to code?
"Will I really learn how to code? Well yes. I was very much a beginner in the world of coding. I had worked with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress and bespoke options in my past, but I really hadn’t got into the thick of it. So depending on who is reading this, you will know that the...Read more
