The curriculum is great, you can learn to code from the scratch.
So for those who already have years of programing is just plus of the same?
Not at all. You start with es6 in the first day, right after spent time in the pre-course material, React in 3 weeks, nodejs, express, lot of discussion about the topics, data structures in a way that it keeps permanently stored. Coding challenges with real world examples, helps a lot in the job search (The highlight of Job Search IMO, everyday challenged a lot by structures and logic).
Do your best to get accepted cause you definitely are in good hands.
I took the web development mini-bootcamp and the part time full stack web development course. It was tough in the beginning but I was highly motivated by the end of the course. It was the first time I worked so hard and invested time and money. But, it was all worth in the end. The teachers were always available to me, and really supportive throughout the process. I had a great time going through the course.
I didn’t have any experience in programming or advanced computing whatsoever. And, my sole intention in joining lambdaschool was to become a programmer and get a job. I did not research anything about the bootcamps, and joined lambdaschool because it was online and cost effective.
Now, I am glad that I joined lambdaschool but I immediately regretted after the first class. It was way too fast for me. And, I think almost all of the coding bootcamps are paced like that to cover everything in three months. Anyone who has no background in programming is going to have hard time going into these courses, and lambdaschool is no different. Don’t be afraid to ask, instructors are amazing. They will answer anything and repeat any time you want.
I eventually caught up, but I had to work a lot t...
Because of their selection process of students, the students are great too. I made a lot of friends during the course period, and I am still friends with almost all of them.
Lambdaschool is an awesome place to learn web development, especially for girls who are thinking to get into tech but are annoyed by brogrammer culture.
I am really glad that I joined Lambdaschool.
I am few weeks into my job as junior web technologies engineer. I started the web development full time course back in Feb of 2017, and I went without any real world experience in programming and tech industry.
The instructors understood my experience and added me in the group of same students as me, which was wonderful. I had very good time learning and discussing tech with both instructors my friends on the classes. We took on massive and complicated project...Read more
Going to Lambdaschool has been one of the best decision I ever made. The instructors are very supportive, and course is well paced. I was able to improve upon my existing skills as a web developer and gain knowledge about new technologies. Their Slack Channel is filled with students who really love studying and have a lot of passion to share the knowledge they have gained.
During my time at the school, I enjoyed doing assignments and group projects. I did feel that the pace was bit rushed towards the end, but it was nothing I couldn’t catch up to. After you graduate, Austen is always there to find you jobs and help you in the process.
It was such an amazing experience!
There are awful lot of programming schools and bootcamps out there, and there isn’t much difference in any of them in the terms of course contents, and other general things. Only thing that separates the good programming bootcamp is the networking opportunities you get there and support you get after the finishing the program. That is the only reason I went to Lambdaschool. Before LambdaSchool, I had gone to less known coding school in my own town which teaches veteran coding to get into tech industry. It was a good school, and I was exposed to a lot of code and practice which helped me get somewhat good. But, we didn’t get any networking opportunities to get the job after finishing the school, and had no support whatsoever. As a result, I had a hard time applying to job and landing a ...Read more
I have attended to every single coding bootcamps done by Lambdaschool, including their JS mini-bootcamp, Intro to Web Development bootcamp, and full time web development bootcamp. My journey of learning programming started with JS mini-bootcamp of lambdaschool and I am still in the path of learning, even after finishing the full time web develoment course. I already have a job as web designer and having great time working in the industry I love. I have attended a lot of free coding bootcamps, but Lambdaschool bootcamp was probably the best. And, their Full time bootcamp is even better. Every student get untethered attention from the instructors, and Austen will help you with anything, even after you finish the courses. I am very happy with my decision of getting into tech and lambdascho...Read more
I took and completed the web development course, the one with the ReactJS and Native. I did not have very good programming experience or expertise going in, and the instructors respected that fact and gave me attention to help me understand properly. I would not say that I have become expert at programming or web development, but i have learned more than what I knew going into the program. I had a very pleasant experience with lambdaschool and don’t have anything to complain except the price. Beyond that, Lambdaschool is very good choice if you are looking to get a job. If you complete all assignments and follow their instructions, you will be getting job or paid internship in very short time.
I joined Lambdaschool after my attempt to learn programming by myself, at which I failed very miserably. I joined Lambdaschool with a hope to make my skills top notch and probably get a job in the process. I just finished the course and assignments, and I am very happy with the result. I haven’t applied for any job or internships yet, but I am very happy with the result of the program. It really makes a difference to have a mentor while you are learning to program.
I have been an anti-bootcamp person for a while. (I have a fair share of friends that have taken them and came out not much better than they went in). I was doing the normal FCC/Udemy courses and just not making it anywhere. Have a problem? Go google it and have a sparatic understanding of the question or get little to no answer at all and just randomly copy and past stackoverflow posts until your tests pass or code does what you want. This is the overwhelming issue with self learning or these "pre recorded" video courses wether they are on Udemy, MOOC's, Udacity and even some of the expensive online bootcamps are just recordings being played back for you.
Before joining lambdaschool, I did not have any solid background in programming and I joined to improve my skills as a programmer and developer. I attended both the Mini Bootcamp and the complete full time bootcamp for web development, and I am very impressed. I think it’s one of the best in the industry.
As expected the full time course was even more organized and properly designed than the mini-bootcamp. I got to repeat some ba...
I attended the bootcamp of Lambda School on Web Development and I was fully satisfied from it. At the time it felt like a scary and risky move, but I was very quickly rewarded with the feeling that it was one of the best decisions I had ever made. Teachers are knowledgeable, supportive, and committed to your success. My classmates came from a variety of backgrounds, levels of education, and professional experience; Lambda School is designed to meet anyone with the interest and desire to become a programmer where they are and help them succeed. Thank you Lambda School for changing my life. Lastly, I just want to say if you are thinking to make a career in programming then you should definitely try this course.
I joined lambdaschool right after college, and I only joined it after researching a lot of coding bootcamps and similar programs. I am very happy with the outcome of the program and loved the fact that they helped me to get a job. If you are thinking to join a lambdaschool, I suggest you to do some research, ask around for similar programs and only join if you think this is right for you. Lambdaschool has one of the best course for web development and design, and all the instructors are very cooperative. But, this course is not for everybody. If you are someone who doesn’t have any experience in programming or doing extensive hours of work and study, you are going to have a very hard time. The full time course of lambdaschool requires you to have a certain level of commitment, you need ...Read more
If anything is certain, it is the development of the booming tech industry and jobs it has brought. It is a great time to get into the tech industry. A lot of programming and designing job have great pay, and flexible working hours. But, if you’re like me and did not go to four years of college it is going to be very hard for you to get into the industry. That is where the coding bootcamps come in. I did not go to university, rather took some courses at my community college. So, I had no chance of getting a job as a programmer. I joined lambdaschool in the hope of getting into the industry, and it did work for me. You don’t have to join lambdaschool to get into the industry, even though it is one of the best out there.
I joined lambdaschool because it was online and there weren’t any...Read more
Lambdaschool is one of the best programming bootcamps available online which offers good course along with real world experience. I have had a lot of experience with programming in C++, and attended few iOS development bootcamps during college years but I barely had any real world experience. Lambdaschool course is incredibly practical and well designed. However, I feel that the last modules might be little hard on beginners. But, that shouldn’t be a problem if you commit yourself to the course from the start. Right after finishing the course at lambdaschool, I got a lot of job offers and internship offers with the help of school. Austin is very friendly and helpful, and he has a lot of experience working in tech industry. So, you get to know and learn the skills required to get high pa...Read more
I recently enrolled and went through the front end design course of the lambdaschool, and I feel that I have learnt a lot more in past 14 weeks than I did in entire four years in high school. The course is not that different from other bootcamps but the instructors are lot more interesting and helpful. I went into the course after the mini-bootcamp of the school, which was also fantastic and free. I already had fair share of experience and knowledge of front end development before diving into the course, but you can easily catch up even if you are a beginner. I highly recommend this course for fresh graduates who are looking to revamp their programming experience and get a job instead of unpaid internship.
You can find many growth opportunities and careers path available for you in Lambda School. After joining Lambda School , I felt like I am a part of a dynamic and global community full of people who work to change the world. I started with Lambda School’s part-time course and found it awesome. I was already working as a programmer in a company, and they were switching from the tradition database into a non-sequential database. I was not in a condition to go and take a full course of programming. So, I was searching for the most reasonable course for regarding quality and time. I found that the Lambda School had packed so much course in so little time. It was hard for me at starting to learn the object oriented concepts. But as it proceeded, I was getting better at it. Also, they teach you to work at the professional level. So, I was able to use whatever I learned here in my company. And at the end of the boot camp, I can handle the database of any kind with no problem.
I enjoyed the course as a whole. The teachers were very supportive as I was back on my course. I started late than others because of the timing of my exam. The projects give you a real life feeling of working in an industry as you to projects in groups. Although the projects might seem hard to you, I suggest you take the tests and the projects seriously if you want to improve your skills. Although I started late, I was not the last student in the class. I did great and currently working as a Database Administrator for a business company.
If you are from and programming background, the course will meet your expectation. The course is quite broad, but you will learn the basics in no time. At the end of 10 weeks, you will be able to build apps on your own. I did the part-time course as I had a prior knowledge of the field but if you want more than you can for the full-time course. If you have the interest in cross platform app development and want to explore the profession in it, this course will surely help you on that. This course provides you with the knowledge of the tools, concepts, and processes needed for your learning journey. Also, an excellent environment to help you when you are in problem. I would recommend this to someone who is interested in cross-platform development but doesn’t know where to start.
I took some classes on Data Analytics but much of it was mostly theoretical, and I had a hard time making a career out of it. They taught us well enough, but it was not good enough to go out and start doing a job. I tried out for some companies, but none of them hired me. But after joining here, all of that changed. I decided to go for Full-time boot camp, and it was the right choice for me. I know the best practices that you need to make your work most productive. I am practicing things by completing the projects and giving tests after each class, and the teachers are great to help you out when you have a problem. I am more confident and prepared for the real job.
I am very satisfied with Boot Camp. I was able to get a great job just over one week after I finished my course by doing all the projects on what I was taught and investing some extra time to practice on my own. Lambda School provides an excellent foundation for the understanding of full-stack software development and provides the skills to find solutions to a given problem. The skills and techniques that I learned here landed me my first job in programming.
I am currently a student at a University. I have still got about a year to finish my degree, but my career is all set up thanks to Lambda School. I never thought about working in a company when I first came to Lambda School. I had just finished my course in Lambda School, and one of my friends was going for an intern in the company, and I applied for it too. But as they interviewed me, they were quite impressed and offered me an actual job. So I work as a developer for that company which is cool for my age. It was a great experience in Lambda School. The course is great, the teachers are skillful, and you get professional level skills at the end of the course. Join Lambda School if you are a student and want to make a career out of programming.
It is an excellent course. It might not be the alternative to tech degree, but it can serve you right if you don’t have one. Well, I have no degree and going spending four years to get a degree is not a convenient choice for me. I decided to go for just getting the skills and then land some job.
And, I think lambdaschool was no brainer for me. It felt easy at the beginning and as the course went on it became hard for me to catch up with the course. It would have been hard for me if it was not for the teachers who were always online to help me. I started to get confidence in what I was doing.
I am working as a junior programmer in a company which is a vast improvement for someone who never finished his degree. If they made me able and brought out something in my life, this is a co...Read more
Thirteen-week of commitment is not easy. I can honestly see the difference in myself after two months now. Two months ago, I was a noob looking through all the internet to learn to program. The thing about learning on your own is that there are not enough materials on the web, there is too much content to choose. But now when I am doing the course, I am surrounded by skilled classmates and the teachers will point you in the right direction. I am not saying that it is easy to learn the skills. But when you put the effort in the right place, you are most productive. In the tight market, you have to stand out of the crowd. Your skills might be outdated in the future. So, you want to stand out of the crowd and learn the updated course then join the course.
I was an intern for a tech company and been that for a long time now. I had tried for the job as a programmer but got rejected. One of my friends suggested that I should take this amazing boot camp in Lambda School. Since I had nothing to lose, I joined the boot camp, and now I am working as Developer for the same company.
The first few weeks were very easy, and I felt like I had invested in something worthless. But as the weeks passed by, it got tough, and my skilled grew accordingly. The teachers were very helpful at the end of the course as I had to struggle a little. And it felt like working in a real company doing those projects in the group. I was confident enough to apply for the company’s job one more time and this time I got the job.
I never liked spending any extra than I had to on anything and certainly not for a boot camp. But after coming to lambda School, all of that changed. It was money well spent. I got a job in a company a week after I left here. I was a decent programmer before coming to Lambda School. I used to learn on my own from the web using all the free resources. But I never landed a job that I wanted to get. That’s when I joined Lambda School.
It took me a week to decide whether to join the course or not but I am happy that I joined it. The course is great and you will love the course materials once you see it. I know now why I didn’t get a job my using those free resources in web. If there is someone to guide you, you get less worried about solving your problems and more focused on learning. You ...
