Noble Desktop's UX Design courses utilize classroom activities and real-world examples to illustrate UX Design concepts, from user research to the final design. In our UX Fundamentals class, you'll work as a team to solve user needs, use paper prototypes to verify assumptions, prioritize tasks based on user research, create prototypes with Sketch and InVision, and practice with a real-world client.
This class will provide an overview of the key concepts of user experience (UX) design. Class material will be a mix of lecture, discussion, industry examples, and classroom activities. Students will leave the class with a broad understanding of how UX designers work with other team members, fundamentals of the industry, and how designers move from research insights to design concepts.
Learn to design websites for mobile phones, tablets, and desktops using the visual design principles of color, layout, and typography. You’ll learn about visual conventions, standards, and industry trends.
You’ll gain experience with the process and principles for designing responsive websites through lecture and hands-on practice.
You will design and produce one or more projects in this class to come out with portfolio material. Your work will be critiqued and you’ll get feedback to help you improve your designs.
In this coding class you’ll learn how to develop websites with HTML and CSS, the coding languages used to create webpages. We focus on best practices for structuring the content of your webpages with HTML and then styling the content with CSS.
Once you have the basics under your belt, you'll move on to real-world page layout. You’ll learn text and link styles, centered page layout, background images, CSS-based navigation, forms, uploading files via FTP, and much more. We will provide you with the content and prepared images for use in these projects but this training will give you hands-on practice coding websites from scratch all the way through uploading them to make them live.
In this training you’ll learn how to use CSS for more complex page layouts. You’ll learn about best practices as you gain a deeper understanding of CSS selectors and the various CSS properties available.
You’ll create multi-column layouts using floats and inline-block. Gain a deeper understanding of how block and inline elements work. Master the positioning of elements (relative, absolute, fixed) and target elements with advanced CSS selectors. Learn about newer CSS3 transitions, transforms, and animations as well as create parallax scrolling effects using only CSS.
WordPress is not only a powerful blogging platform, it’s also a content management system (CMS). If you already know how to code webpages, you can use WordPress as a CMS so website updates are easier and your clients (non-coders) can edit the content themselves! To control the look of the site you create themes, which is the focus of this class. You can also add lots of functionality through the built-in features of WordPress and its many plugins. In this class you will learn how to install WordPress, modify existing themes (using child themes), and develop your own custom themes.
This course is designed for people who are already familiar with HTML and CSS. Knowledge of PHP is a plus, but is not required to take this class.
WordPress enables you to create and maintain a website, even if you have no web design background. Whether you want to create a new website or blog, or manage an existing WordPress website, this class is for you. This course is geared for anyone, so you do not need prior experience with computer graphics or coding.
