Read More and reflections from classmates that helped bridge concepts with real-world challenges. Shilpa demonstrated extensive knowledge in production management and her passion for product management was contagious. Her unique insight and perspective were particularly valuable for me who have years' experiences in adjacent disciplines but is relatively new to Product Management. One suggestion to make the program even stronger would be to consider implementing some sort of Office Hours so students can get additional guidance outside of the class to maximize learning. The Office Hours may be hosted by instructor (or a teaching assistant) and scheduled dynamically on a needed basis.

I wanted to love it, but I would not recommend the Product School for students looking to really dive into Product Management and learn about it for the first time. While the PM Certificate course does provide an overview of being a PM, it is very much... Read More *just* an overview. There was very little practical experience, and not much more to the content other than PowerPoint slides. We did have a few group exercises, but those weren't as beneficial as they could have been. Since there were students with prior PM experience mixed in with those of us with no experience, the group projects tended to be led by those experienced PMs. As a student with no experience, this made it difficult to actually learn or practice. Though there was homework, our instructor implied that they wouldn't offer any additional feedback other than what we already went over in class, since the homework was the same as our group projects. I'm sure this will help on LinkedIn, but I didn't learn anything that I couldn't have learned in PM books or through much cheaper courses via other avenues like Coursera (for reference, the PM course at Product School cost $4500 as of summer 2021). I don't think Product School is worth it, and I wouldn't recommend taking the Product Manager Certificate course.

Read More bevy of strategic topics that added value immediately to the students who attended (from OKRs to stakeholder management). I felt the only missing component at the syllabus level was some more real-life case studies on team building and evaluation. How should we think about building out a product team? Are there case studies on successes and failures? How do we evaluate team members at different levels? Information on how to answer these and other quations could be very useful for an executive in the product space.

The only thing I would change is that the analytics (python) section should be a course by itself. It's not enough time to go through it in one session. I also had an awesome cohort with different experience levels across industries. Shilpa is an amazing instructor. She brings her experience into discussions and also encourages participation from all the students. She has a great Product management knowledge and is very passionate about the subject. She is able to provide real life examples to help understand concepts. Overall I am very satisfied with this program and I would highly recommend Shilpa as an instructor for this course.
