I took this course to increase my coding portfolio. I have a background in R but was finding it hard to apply outside the world of ecology and strictly scientific studies. At my current job I am designing an app that uses python for its main algorithms... Read More on the backend and I needed to gain better coding skills to help communicate to our developers what we needed.
This course had a very good introduction to python and got me up to speed on the basic functionality of the language. The modules were all based around gathering and interpreting data, so it did exactly what you expected from a data science course. Philip the instructor was very flexible with the speed of the class and was able to explain concepts well while providing supplementary material to support our learning outside of class. I still refer to the python notebooks that we put together in class. Philip also did a good job of underlining the importance of using coding blogs like stack overflow to problem solve, a great skill to have as a programmer.
Overall the course gave me the skills to read python code and conduct basic data analysis.

Really enjoyed Promotable's Intro to Analytics course. The instructors were knowledgeable, helpful, and engaging. Topics covered ranged from understanding the basics of data, leveraging data through basic to intermediate SQL queries, setting up PosgreSQL... Read More locally, Tableau data import, worksheet visualizations, and dashboard build-outs. I definitely got my money's worth as instruction material was relevant and exercises/assignments really pushed me to discover more about how I can harness data. Definitely a great starting point for data beginners in both SQL and Tableau

As a recent college graduate I was working a completely non-technical job (as a recruiter), but I knew that Data Analytics was a field that I wanted to break into. I chose to invest my after-work time into Promotable's courses as a way for me to gain... Read More technical experience, and both boost my resume and learn about fundamental analytical tools and concepts. 3 months later I landed the technical position that I wanted and learned a lot along the way.

I took the courses "Data Analytics for Business" and "Python 101 for Data Science" which were 6 weeks and 5 weeks, respectively. I was able to do both online which was super helpful for me since in-person wasn't feasible. The instructor I had, Vikram, was fantastic. He was really helpful explaining all the concepts, but more importantly to me I could tell he was extremely passionate about his work.

As far as the subject matter, I think you get as much out of the course as you choose to put in. It was important to me to nail down my SQL skills so I worked extra hard outside of class to make sure I knew all the concepts we covered in class. I also gained experience with Excel, Tableau, and of course, extensive experience with Python. I highly recommend Promotable to anyone who is looking to further their career with Data Analytics.
