Part-Time, Full Stack Web Development Boot Camp
"Awful."
The program was crammed and rushed. Too many topics were covered superficially just for the sake of saying they were included. Near the end of the course, we were given a homework exercise in React that most students couldn't complete. Then we were told... Read More
This program may be advertised as suitable for career changers, but don't buy that for one minute. People without a deep IT background are likely to drown in this program. I had years of prior exposure to coding in VBA and SQL, but I didn't have an IT degree or work in IT. I couldn't handle the pace of this program. At completion, I never even considered looking for work in the field because I knew I was woefully unprepared.
I thought it was safe to enroll in this course because of Rutgers' reputation. I never expected Rutgers would lend its name to a program so haphazardly run by an outside organization.
My advice is to steer clear and save your money.

"It was a disaster for me"
While doing my research on Data Science boot camp in google; this name popped up on Facebook. So I called the number and the guy who picked up the phone was hesitant to talk about the tuition. He put emphasize on how good the course is; strong admission... Read More
Therefore, I took the exam and somehow got selectedL. The down payment was $2500 and rest $7500 is supposed to pay in 6 months.
One cold evening, I was there in Somerset. It was amazing that how they are milking the people. I saw retail people with no math backround ; restaurant worker ; IRS agent and all sort of non-technical people joined the course to become a data scientist !! I am very sure most of them will be in debt for a long time paying the $10k tuition fees. The instructor was a cool 25 yrs. old dude with NO prior experience in boot camp.
They have 7 days return policy; so they start the course very casually with Microsoft excel so all of the students have false security about the course.. The thing gets ugly after 7 days with VBA which itself is not easy for a newbie. After that it just never stops. They complete Python programming in 1 week; different python engine in 1 week ; sql in a week; sqlalchemi /API/html / Javascript in 2 weeks . tableue in 1 week and ML in 1 week !! In between they have homeworks (people just upload others work), project work(1 or 2 experienced people work and other just watch) and list goes on and on. You can also ask a tutor to help you out if you are lukc.
Instructor himself knows that most of us was not getting him but he has to run to complete . The assistants were clueless. One assistant was from merrill lynch with no industry experience .
They have some job search program. I joined that one day and they put two students in a virtual room to discuss about job opportunity. Not sure what was going on.
I still feel pissed off about the whole experience. Unless if you have good working knowledge in programming (Python, Javascript) ,I would recommend you to stay away from this.

We vet our instructors carefully, hiring practitioners with a minimum of three years of experience in the field in lieu of traditional professors in order to simulate real-life working environments. Throughout our courses, we analyze both their performance and levels of engagement in the classroom, providing feedback to help them further develop their teaching skills. We understand that you felt our instructional team did not provide satisfactory support and never want any of our learners to feel discouraged from continuing their work in our boot camp and beyond.
We sincerely care about all our students and would welcome the opportunity to further discuss what else we can do at this time to best meet your expectations and reinforce your learning. If you would like, please reach out to us directly at (732) 361-4853. — Rutgers Data Science Bootcamp Team

As a bootcamp, we know that the curriculum is fast-paced and challenging while covering a wide range of topics, and we do our best to make this clear to prospective students. While our course model is rigorous, it is designed for individuals across a wide range of proficiency levels—ranging from experienced professionals to beginners.
Topics are introduced at a higher level in-class, after which students are expected to dive in and not only gain a deeper understanding of the concepts but practice their skills outside of the classroom. This helps individuals learn how to problem-solve and self-teach, two key developer skills. As the curriculum progresses, most students do feel more confident in the knowledge they have gained.
It's our goal for all participants to complete the program feeling equipped for success, so we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you and determine what additional assistance we can provide for you at this time.
