For now I'm really happy about the content of my courses. Everything is very well done and explained and makes subjects easier to understand.
I have just one thing to say, that living in NZ is, I guess, more difficult to get in touch quickly ( I mean... Read More a couple of hours) with the rest of the community and support people.
I really recommend Skillcrush :)

What I loved most is that Skillcrush has a plethora of classes to choose from just like other programs with the added bonus of guidance. Learning a new skill like coding can be very intimidating! Just browsing through other programs had my head spinning... Read More - I had no idea where to even start. Then I found Skillcrush’s free coding camp online and I knew that theirs was a program that was different from the rest. There are multiple sources of help for students going through the courses and they help guide you to your ideal tech career path in a friendly, welcoming manner. They’re not just teaching coding, they’ve built a community of wildly inspiring individuals.

I can only list pros at this stage of the process. As a seasoned graphic designer, I signed up in the BIT courses to fill in the gaps in my tech knowledge. I am almost complete with the HTML/CSS portion of the Break into Tech courses and notice I come... Read More to each section with enthusiasm. The courses are broken up into digestible bites so as to not overwhelm my older brain. When I have questions or feel stuck there are community and instructor resources ready to help!

I appreciated the COVID discount and monthly payment plan that Skillcrush offered for this course. Since I've been unemployed, I went through the curriculum nearly f/t and finished in a couple months. Overall, I picked Skillcrush because I am a middle-aged... Read More female and didn't want to learn from a 20yo wonderkind bro programmer. ;) Since I come from a design background, I also love that they care about aesthetics and the user experience. There's a great Slack community and you can join the channel that corresponds to the class you're taking so that you can search through and find answers when you get stuck and students support each other. In terms of what we were taught, I feel like it was good, but could've been a little more comprehensive. For example, in the CSS lessons we just learned Flexbox and not Grid layout. I would've cut out most of the time spent on float layout lessons, which is not best practice anyhow, and used that time to teach Grid layout. I also would've liked to learn more CSS selectors, and just gone a little more in depth on that language. The JavaScript projects were too complex for me, I had to take other online classes with more simple projects because I just couldn't get things at that level right off the bat and still feel shaky in that language. I've seen people saying they've gotten jobs before even finishing the program, but I feel like I need a good 3-6 more months of learning and practice to be close to competent at this, and I come from a tech background and already was comfortable with HTML, so it depends on the person. Overall, I am happy with my investment and would definitely recommend them to older students or anyone that is not a young, white male looking to feel welcomed in a more inclusive learning environment. I definitely will consider coming back and taking more classes with them. My track didn't include any job support, so that's why I gave that a low rating, it just wasn't applicable to my course. They do have some free career-oriented downloads on their website and you're free to ask instructors during Zoom calls about their experience as well, so that was appreciated.

I've tried the free online coding courses, but none of the information was really sticking with me. I have a lot of trouble processing huge blocks of text and I lose interest in long-winded YouTube videos. I stumbled upon Skillcrush, attended a free Q&A... Read More about the course, and immediately knew that I wanted to give this a try. I don't regret it one bit. The course instructors are amazing. Their helpful videos keep me interested, walk me through how to do things, and I feel like they're genuinely invested in my success.

Skillcrush has SHORT AND SWEET high-quality video, step-by-step tutorials, instructor feedback, fun course projects, and handy cheatsheets full of important information. And when it comes time to do your projects, they give you just enough freedom to do it on your own, but not feel like you're floating, untethered, out in space. The active student community has also been a HUGE help.

Course material itself feels basic, HOWEVER- they link you to amazingly helpful resources all over the web and the student community has been great. And you are always welcome to message instructors with questions.

I have no regrets in purchasing the Break Into Tech Blueprint course and I've been enjoying every minute of it!

Skillcrush is has been a great experience for me. I was looking for a self-paced, online-only coding bootcamp that still offered me a sense of community, career help, and interaction with instructors. I chose Skillcrush because it offers A LOT more of... Read More those things than its similarly-priced competitors. Skillcrush also focuses on promoting inclusivity in the tech industry and really elevates the voices of women, often women of color. This program felt much more welcoming to me than many of the faceless or worse, bro-ey, programs out there. Also, Skillcrush really promotes getting your start by freelancing, and they have a lot of resources to help you do that. Before Skillcrush, I thought I wanted an intensive program that I could knock out as quickly as possible and become a back-end developer for Google already! And Skillcrush does absolutely allow you to do the program that way if you want to and you absolutely will be prepared for a job. But I've been convinced by their philosophy of learning enough to start freelancing, then starting to gain experience, build your resume, and learn while you earn (as they say)!

After some lackluster experiences with other coding courses, I found myself losing interest in tech fast... and then Skillcrush came along. I'm one month into their Break into Tech (BIT) program, and I cannot recommend it enough. I've already learned HTML and CSS, and am currently coding my own personal website. They are WONDERFUL about teaching skills in an efficient and clear way, and I never feel like they're wasting my time. Not only is Skillcrush effective, but it's actually fun! My friends and family think it's hilarious how much I look forward to it each day. Once you get going, it's hard to stop. I've already had a one-on-one meeting with a counselor, who answered all my questions about the tech industry, and the best way to enter it. Truly, if you're considering learning to code, this is the best way to do it. The price made me hesitate for a few weeks, but I'm so glad I went for it -- it is absolutely worth it. Adda and her team are amazing, and I've already convinced a friend of mine to join. She loves it, too!

I am a graphic designer enrolled in Skillcrush to learn web front end development and web design. I have been in the program for a few months, and my experience has been terrific. The course lessons are efficiently organized and make all the new information... Read More clear and easy to understand. The feedback on lessons and questions have always been within 24 hours. They also have a ton of resource materials and videos to access. I have been very pleased with it all since day one.

I looked at a lot of programs before deciding to sign up with Skillcrush. It seemed the curriculum was comprehensive and the cost affordable with awesome support and such a cool vibe/mission. I've been going through the courses daily and am NOT disappointed!... Read More Skillcrush seems to have mastered the balance of feeding information to the student, then letting the student figure some things out in order to cement the knowledge in.
I've already mentioned the class to quite a few friends who are checking it out for themselves!
