Read More falling behind with online courses, but Skillcrush's course really IS self-paced and no matter how long you leave the material, when you come back, they leave you with enough information and review checkpoints that you can jump right in like a saved game. I am getting all the bang for my buck and plan to keep going. Thanks so much to the team.

Read More sciences so I needed a course that I was drawn to; that was comprehensive but also aesthetically pleasing. I enjoy the lesson layouts, the quick response times from instructors and the overall sense of community this program has to offer. I would say if I HAD to list one major drawback it would be that you are not physically sitting in a classroom, working through the challenges with other people, its just you. However this is kind of the nature of coding and I really like that although its challenging, I'm forced to independently find solutions to my own problems. If I get super stuck, theres always and instructor I can call on. Some people might argue that there are plenty of free ways to learn, however I know myself and I needed the structure, the beautifully designed layouts. I knew as soon as I'd completed the bootcamp this was the program for me. For me? Worth every penny, highly recommended.

Read More love the music in the beginning of every video(strictly because I'm eager to get to the material), but that's just a personal preference and does not take away from the overall experience whatsoever. Based on my experience so far I would absolutely recommend this program for anyone looking for a career change or to expand their skills.

Read More I have is that you have to be dedicated and stick to your own schedule or else you can get stuck in a rut and then waste time procrastinating. If you are passionate and are excited to learn this is the perfect bootcamp for you. You can go at your own pace and you have a lifetime access to all the courses, which is a huge plus. Overall, very happy I chose Skillcrush and excited to continue learning!

I’m the type of person that it’s hard for me to learn right off the back of lessons, but with... Read More SkillCrush they explain things so simple that anyone and I MEAN ANYONE can understand! I didn’t think I could learn a new language so fast, I mean the last time I ever used HTML was when MySpace was the main social media site to be on and since then which has been like over 10 years I have forgotten all about HTML, but luckily I’ve found SkillCrush who are teaching the ways of coding. Before I found SkillCrush, I tried learning on YouTube but that was no bueno because they would tell you all this code with little explanation so I was lost in many videos from YouTube channels teaching you how to code and so I tried looking into bootcamps but they were way too overpriced and expected over a grand just sign up and pay about over a grand each month. I’m so glad I found SkillCrush, they are reasonable in pricing, they are very responsive in their emails and super supportive. I’m loving every moment of learning and I’m excited to break into a new career and be able to get out of the cubicle life which is my main goal.

The staff members, Sharon, Caroline, and others, always respond to my questions in such a timely fashion. Not only are the responses so quick, but so accurate in their diagnosis. I had/have so many questions, I actually feel like a burden. They have been so patient and kind. I am so grateful I found Skillcrush. It is taking me longer than I expected to get through the lessons, but I am not giving up and look forward to learning more.

Lessons are clear and easy to understand even if you're not coming from a design background and the assignments/quizzes really help to cement the lesson. Instructors are friendly and encouraging and I like the addition of a feedback challenge to get direct input on an assignment. Plus, there's a helpful and extremely supportive Slack community of other Skillcrushers always willing to encourage and help each other out

How I Got Involved with Skillcrush:
From the very first time I found Skillcrush on a blog, reviewing the highest rated online coding schools I could find, I knew it had to be good with the 4.8 ranking it had. Unfortunately, I tried a handful of other... Read More schools that weren't even on the list anymore: It had been exactly one year from the time I tried to start studying coding, and the school I attempted with wasn't even on the map anymore. I popped open Skillcrush and was immediately exhilarated by the sleek design, which is first impressions. I signed up for the email list and began receiving Adda's emails. Honestly, the way she writes feels like she's sitting right in front of you; I feel the warmth and candor in her words and felt inspired by her short stories (she doesn't drone on like some email marketing campaigns). I didn't even realize there was an enrollment period, and I just happened to stumble upon it right when it was opening. I began to review all the different courses laid out. Everything I needed to be intrigued about how to go forward and possible avenues of specialization were before me. That was all just on first appearances. I saw the incredible deal Skillcrush was offering, and even though I couldn't afford it at the time, a very reasonable payment plan was offered and I took my chance. All around, being able to see as much as I did with transparency and being able to start into my payment plan immediately, my dream began.

The Course Layout, Delivery, & Content:
Admittedly, I was very excited to get started, somewhat with rose-colored glasses. When I opened my first lesson with Skillcrush, I was blown away. What I admire most about Skillcrush, and with any company that achieves this, is the stripping down to simplicity. Skillcrush and Adda have this retro 1950's feel to a stop & go lesson plan that's super user-friendly and easy for the very-beginner. Every single lesson is short and concise, giving you a little spike of accomplishment at the end of every lesson slide. In addition, Adda is a straight natural and expert teacher for delivering the information in a friendly, lively and creative manner. She's truly very good at what she does, writing/teaching/coding (THANK YOU!). What I do like about the Dashboard interface is that I'm bogged down with so many options that I don't know where to start, because the course is broken down into three phrases. Until you're finished with phase 1, you don't unlock the others. For me, this is gameifying, and I love that! If you have questions or need help, feedback, etc, there are weekly and monthly and even daily feedback challenges that give you access to support and tutoring. You are NEVER left behind with Skillcrush. Honestly, it feels like the Skillcrush has thought of most everything, but of course that isn't true. We all have the ability to evolve and expand beyond every iteration, and I hope that Skillcrush continues to raise the bar and offer ever-more aspects to what makes them bold an individual. I'm only through my first course on HTML and CSS in Phase 1 , and I feel so much the wiser on how to speak these languages. In one course, I was typing fluently from memory, so I know Skillcrush's strategy is being absorbed. I'm so excited to become a developer. Thank you Skillcrush, please keep at it!

I procrastinated a bit when I got stuck but when I picked it back up, they were there with me to ease my nervousness. I researched other courses, even free ones, but Skillcrush stood out to me knowing that I would have mentors and a community of others in my situation. Taking online classes are never a good idea for me because I’m a master procrastinator but when you know that tour future career change relies on it....something like that just kicks your butt into gear. So far, I feel like this was the best decision and I’m pretty sure it’s going to remain that way. I’m still in my first class so I can’t truly rate the job support. BUT, I feel confident that it’s going to be amazing as well so it got a 5 too!
