I was learning to code and felt like coding wasn't for me. My diary was already busy so I was in two minds about joining a Bootcamp. However, I am so glad I made time to join SHA. The teaching was incredible. We had a good manageable class size. One long... Read More session (mandatory) per week and an extra short session (optional). During the session, there was a mix of individual and tutor-led tasks. We had a lot of interaction with the tutor and students. The dedicated tutors gave enough guidance as they understood the needs of a learner or complete beginner. I could go back to the recordings which really helped in my final project. The tutors gave the right support. There is also a lot of independent studies and it can be a steep learning curve so do be prepared for that. As a developer, one would have to solve problems and look for solutions so it was preparing us for the real world but it gave us enough information. I have enrolled onto different courses and this Bootcamp was fantastic. I am now a more confident coder. The passion of a tutor can make your career, SHA certainly did that! I am based in the UK so understandably the job support was there but limited but I learnt a ton. Big well done to the SHA team, the tutors, the admin, the careers team! :-)

The teachers and mentors are very supportive. We were exposed to many different sources of materials and. Although we studied remotely, I didn't feel isolated and the sense of belonging was strong. All in all, I totally recommend Social Hackers Academy for anyone who is interested in getting started a career in programming!
