I was in a dead end job with no great future prospects. I had a family that I was trying to support and couldn't see myself going back to school while trying to work and support my family at the same time until I came across V School. In 12 weeks I was... Read More

"Not all boot camps were created equal."

Not only am I a recent dev boot camp graduate, but I have had countless hours speaking with people from a variety of boot camps. I am left with mixed feelings. Almost every boot camp will promise that after you take their course, you will enter the industry... Read More

All of that being said, my experience at Coding Campus was highly rewarding. They provided extensive career training and support. There were times when it was almost too much career support and not enough time on instruction or just crunching on code. The instruction started out very strong and provided an excellent basic understand of programming, but it became more a 'by the seat of their pants’ style as the course went on. It was corrected by launching a class project to get everyone refocused and back on task, but by this time the momentum for a lot of students was gone. For me, I felt that the pace and instruction style of Coding Campus was perfect and I found the experience to be exactly what I needed to make a 180 and launch into a different field. Anyone interested in going to a dev boot camp should take the process slowly and be sure to shop around. If you can, try to sit in one or more classes to get a vibe for the instructors and material.

My last word of advice is be careful and do your research. Also, while it would be cool for everyone to learn how to code, not everyone can in a boot camp environment.

"Coding Campus Changed my life path"

My prior knowledge to software development was 0% before I went to Coding Campus. The course moved fast, and took me through an incremental learning process which helped me understand each language and how to use them together. You must be 100% attentive... Read More

There was available help from TA’s during class and on weekends. I attended TA help EVERY Saturday for 6-8 hrs to get the extra help I wanted to be as successful as I could. During class there was a lot of support for questions. The teacher spent adequate time answering these questions and still kept the class on track. We also used an app called "Hipchat" that students, teachers, and TA's used to communicate, answer questions and share code snippets with each other.

The other thing I enjoyed about this class is they taught students what to expect when venturing out to find a job. Things like "Imposter syndrome" and how to handle it. On top of that they showed us how to perfect our resumes and LinkedIn profiles which is critical for landing a dev job. They WANT you to get a job, and train you HOW!

My brother and a few close friends are going to college for Computer Science right now. I shared with them my experience at Coding Campus and they both agreed I have learned more, done more, and have had more hands on experience in 12 weeks than they have in 2 years.

To be successful with this coarse I'd encourage you do your homework, put in extra time outside of class studying on your own and getting TA help when you can. Throughout the course be patient, endure through it, and I promise your brain will connect the dots. It was hard, challenging, and it changed my life. It was worth every effort.

Expect to continue studying on your own after Coding Campus, you'll know a ton, but not everything. After you graduate its important to keep coding everyday to keep your skill fresh. A good place to do that is www.codewars.com.

2 weeks after graduating, I was able to land a dev job. Because of Coding Campus, I was able to change the course of my future. I don't know anywhere else that if you put in this kind of effort, that it will provide an amazing opportunity to change your life direction in 12 weeks.

Id recommend this course to anyone looking to jump start their development skills. This is more than learning a programming language, they teach you that and more so you can make a career change.

"Small class size, great people and job support!"

"Coding Campus gave me the chance to start a new, profitable career I actually enjoy."

When I took the Coding Campus course over a year ago, they were still relatively new. They were still getting their curriculum polished, were changing the requirements of the course, and didn't have a solid final project ready for us. Even with the startup... Read More

Since then, I happen to know they've added a number of other classes, have a much more polished curriculum, and are much more project & practice based than they used to be. I hear amazing things from the current students, who are working on way cooler projects than I ever did, and who are leaving with a much strong skill set than I did. This program is going great places.
