In this 4 week-long class, students will gain basic web design skills and demonstrate their understanding of Web Development as they create their own Portfolio Homepage, Tech Blog and Photo App. The completion of this course will allow students to earn the Beginner Badge and progress to the intermediate level of Web Development.

By the end of this class the student will be able to:

-Build a website containing the following elements:
-Correct HTML structure
-a heading
-paragraph text
-a link
-a list
-an image
- table

-Link pages to each other
-Create a table that includes headers and multiple rows.
-Create a CSS file and style their site by designing a simple menu bar and changing colors, backgrounds and borders.
-ASSESSMENT: Creating a simple website using HTML and styling it with CSS, showing that they understand the core principles outlined above.
-Earn a Beginner Badge

In this 7 week-long class, students will enhance their knowledge of web development as they gain the skills required to complete the following projects: Adding a Navigation Bar and List of Freelance Services to their Portfolio. The completion of this course will allow students to earn the Intermediate Badge and progress to the Advanced level of Web Development.

By the end of this class the student will be able to:

-Demonstrate a basic understanding of how and why to use the Developer Tools in their web browser (in particular the Inspector).
-Demonstrate understanding of how to use Tags, Classes and IDs to assign CSS properties to HTML elements and discern the difference between the two.
-Demonstrate the ability to use relative (e.g. %, vh, em) and absolute (px) measurements and discern the difference.
-Demonstrate the ability to use the hover pseudo-class with a selector in CSS to produce a visible change in an element.
-Animate HTML elements by use of CSS animations and keyframes.
-Demonstrate understanding of Git Hub by uploading code
-Earn an Intermediate Badge

In this 6 week-long class, students will increase their knowledge of web development as they gain the skills required to complete the following projects: Professional Portfolio,

The completion of this course will allow students to earn the Advanced Web Development Badge and begin working on WeCode paid projects.

By the end of this class the student will be able to:

-Create Project with all of the above
-Work on projects for Techquity Digital
-Career Coaching
-Companies provide feedback on their presentation
-Update an existing website, or create a new one, demonstrating that they understand the core principles
-Use a simple template for their web page (copy-pasted)
-Demonstrate understanding and use of a relatively positioned parent and absolutely positioned child element(s)
-Demonstrate understanding of the z-index;
-The ability to search online for solutions to issues they encounter
-Earn an Advanced Badge
-Demonstrate understanding of Web Development with a complete portfolio.
