I was convinced to join the program because of the many Success Stories I watched. Being a student at Yellow Tail Tech has been amazing, actually, it's been great! I was a little bit nervous at first. But the instructors are great and they’re so patient, which is something that I think has been a real comfort to me. They are very supportive of you and they really want to see you succeed. And I feel like having that kind of team who’s pushing you to be your best is going to get you the most out of the opportunity. What I like about the program is it’s very well organized. They have content that you can go back to. You have a hands-on instructor that you can go to, if you get lost or confused. It’s a very structured course. Yellow Tail Tech really helped me in every step of my journey.

The nice thing about the Linux for Jobs program at Yellow Tail Tech is that you can get into the class without anything more than a laptop and be prepared to work through the courses because you do get the VMware and the CentOS OS Linux box, and from... Read More that, you can do all your assignments. The assignments are challenging but they're very helpful in learning your way around. You do a lot of the same thing over and over again which is good because it builds up that muscle memory, the ability to do something from memory rather than looking at your notes. So that's one of the very good aspects of the program. I’m really enjoying the program. I'm very happy that I invested in this course and decided to take my career in this direction. I would absolutely recommend this program to others.

I clicked into a hashtag and the first post I saw was from Yellow Tail Tech so that’s how it started. My life really changed, especially when I passed the RHCSA test. I was able to land a career that I want and provide for my family too. I would definitely recommend Yellow Tail Tech. The environment is positive, the instructors are helpful and very knowledgeable in the subject matter, and the class is very engaging. The one thing that I like about the program is that it’s not just like a bunch of videos where you go through the motions, you have to do the work. You have to actually get on your computer and finish the tasks on your own which means what you learned will be applied immediately.

The structure of the whole program at Yellow Tail Tech is good. Because the program is built in a way that you are starting from zero. And I was doing IT for structure in class and you'll start by describing what a computer is. And then they go through... Read More the process of building on everything that's coming up, in terms of what you're going to learn... After you progress, the program will more or less expand into giving you more information. It's a foundation. They start at the foundation level and it goes up. From the introduction and then the training, now we are on the deeper level of training in IT, security, Linux, and AWS stuff. And after that, there is a certificate preparation that's also built into it. It's for another two months. Once you take the certification, the internship gets into it. When the internship happens now you'll be in the industry. You actually work as students because, from what I know, we will be working on actual tickets. And from certification, and then now the work experience. Once you get out of there, the aspect now is interview training, interview job preparation, and resume preparation. Everything it's a whole package. It's a package that they present to the students. The program is great. I'm enjoying the program. The instructors are great. Everybody... The whole team is great. From the time I started. From the introduction up until the point I am at right now, everyone has been great. The team is very responsive. The instructors are great. I am able to reach out to anybody who has lectured me and I'll get a response almost immediately. That's the main thing. The communication aspect of the team and the Yellow Tail Tech Team, in general. Everything for me, personally from my experience, is just golden. Everything is good from my end.

In Yellow Tail Tech, the instructors that they have are the ones that actually work in the field and they care about our progress. They're really good. They answer all our questions and they’re very patient too. I've seen them be extremely patient with... Read More people, and make sure that you have understood everything. Everything that's set up from the resources to the training, it's phenomenal. I've never seen a program set up like this, which is what attracted me to it in the beginning anyway, because when I saw the structure, I'm like, "Wow." Again, you really have to work hard at trying to fail if you don't want this to work. They leave you zero excuses for not being successful with this program. They're awesome. They all have a good sense of humor. None of them have been boring, and they're really good about how they present the material, and I love how they present it keeping in mind how it was for them when they were first learning. And so each person learns differently, and I've seen them take the time. You get some people who can catch up pretty quickly, some who don't, but you would never feel like you were being left behind. They’re very attentive to the questions that you have and they will break it down for you so you can understand them. The students are great too! The students have actually gotten together on their own study sessions outside of the ones that are provided, which is also awesome. We don't just get regular classes, we get the weekend sessions too, which is, we found out, something that wasn't always offered, but because it was showing to have some really good results, it turned into something that they actually offer now. And the instructor that I've had, Jimmy, is excellent. He's awesome at doing everything. What I like about the student community is that we send Slack messages to each other asking about our schedules and if we need any help we could reach out to our classmates. There's always somebody there willing to jump in and say, "Hey, this is what I did. Maybe this will work for you." I'll recommend it to anybody I like, "Do it, do it." I'm like, "Just go in ready to learn and just eat it up."

The program structure at Yellow Tail Tech is really good for people who are working full time. The classes are only held three days a week, and it’s in the afternoon and they're at a time where you've already worked a full day, but you still have that... Read More time where you can kind of get a little breather and then get ready for class. They also have weekend classes which are only optional because it's just a review of what’s discussed during the week. David, our instructor, has been amazing. He teaches us in a very fun way. It’s always fun being in class because of the way he interacts with us, we’re learning and having fun at the same time. It's been really great. My experience is just amazing, my cohort students have been encouraging too, so I've just been happy. I’m very much enjoying the program. I can’t wait to see where I will be in the next couple of months. I highly recommend Yellow Tail Tech, and I’ve been telling people about my experience and recommending Yellow Tail Tech to them.

The program at Yellow Tail Tech is structured very well. I started out three days a week, then it went down to two days a week after the IT infrastructure. The two days a week made my schedule a little bit better which is really awesome. And with the... Read More instructors, you pretty much have an open line to them on Slack, and pretty much any of your other classmates and other groups as well. For the Teacher Assistants, if you have any questions or you’ve run into any problems, they are always available. And they get back to you within usually the same day or within one day. The modules are also very well put together. I like that we are supposed to go over the modules before we get into class so that when we get into the class, we can ask questions. I think this process is good because it gives us an idea of what our lesson will be. The videos that they provide are also really helpful if I was confused from just reading the content before I start doing the hands-on, when I start watching the videos, it puts everything together. So I have fewer questions to ask. Maybe there is a thing here or two that I’m curious about that I may have not tried on the command line yet, that’s when I will ask about it. I would 100% recommend Yellow Tail Tech to people who would want to get into Linux or jobs in Amazon, if you want to go cloud I think this is the place to go.

I feel very prepared, that I've put in the work and I've taken the time to study and practice. I feel very confident in moving forward to getting my Red Hat certification. I wouldn't change anything about it. It's great. Anyone can pick it up. Anyone can understand it as long as they put in the work and the practice. Allan, my instructor, explains everything so well. He speaks professionally and teaches in a way that makes sense, for example, he'll explain high-level concepts, but he'll make it very simple for you to understand so that you won't get lost. My Teacher Assistants, Georges, and Armand are also very knowledgeable. They explain things so well. Like Allan, they break down high-level concepts in an easy way so the students can understand. I highly recommend this program to anyone that's just looking to make a change in their career and to be a part of something bigger.

I’m absolutely loving the training I have with Yellow Tail Tech. I've realized that if I don't understand a topic sometimes, I would know it and I know that it’s because I have not given it enough attention. So what I’ll do is go over it again and again,... Read More and after that, it just starts getting easy. In our class we have people from all backgrounds - we have people from all over the US and outside of the US as well. There are those who have a little bit of IT background, but most don't, and as a class, I've noticed all of us grow into this IT career. We are also helping each other, that’s why I really like our environment. Even if the teachers are not available, which is very rare to happen, there are students who can help you discuss topics and go through the exams together. The whole network is really helpful because we are working towards a career that we are not familiar with. The material is broken down into parts that are important to learn for this career. It's really easy in the sense that Yellow Tail Tech made it easier for people with no IT background to understand. Personally, it was a lot easier to go through everything, and then they do repetitive homework and stuff. Most of the questions are repeated so many times that you kind of master the commands. It's been really easy in that sense. I hope that after I graduated here at Yellow Tail Tech, I could make my daughters proud. Because the way that the instructors are teaching me they’re very hands-on.
