I was worried as I started the CopeOp Product Manager Bootcamp in April, I wasn't sure that I would make it to the end. But after that first class, I was sold. The lessons were very well developed and using Trello to share weekly reading lists and assignments was just genius. The topics were taught in a way that built up knowledge from one lesson to another. And the instructor, Romina Aswani, made sure that she was available for one on one's to make sure that you could go over concepts that you were having issues with. I was also able to take what I was learning and apply it to my day to day work outside of class. But the one thing that elevated this for me was that the experience wasn't like being in a class; it was a community. CodeOp created an environment that went beyond teaching skills but fostered between the participants and their team a sense of community and collaboration. My coursemates and I shared and support each other. We grew in confidence as we got to know each other and worked through tough concepts and real-life experiences that affected us especially in the course of a pandemic. As I prepare to take all I've learnt and continue to learn from the CodeOp team that still supports us, and the community forged with the rest of the community. Would recommend this to any women, of any age and nationality looking to transition to a tech career. The best decision I made in 2021 was signing up for this. |
