| | Ethan | On starting up a new business I decided to take on some of the development work myself. After going it alone for a while I realized I was out of my depth and need some more formal training. Noble Desktop offered a great certificate program that covered everything I needed - front and back-end coding languages and techniques - in a compressed time frame.
The Noble Desktop staff is very communicative and is there to make this a great experience for you. The instructors are talented both as teachers, as well as engineers, and each has a decade (or two) of professional experience. This means they not only have a mastery of current methodologies, but also understand the underlying 'how we got here' in an ever-changing landscape.
The class format is based around a learn-by-doing approach. One day you'll create a sign up form, another day a responsive navigation menu, another day leverage a jQuery plugin to create a slideshow, etc. You start with a workbook and a set of files, watch the instructor perform the exercise, then the material is reinforced as you do it yourself. Whne you run into a snag, the instructor is there to help you work through it.
It’s a bit of a whirlwind, but that’s what I was signing up for with a bootcamp format. The book and files are yours to keep and refer back to and are extremely clear. Noble also allows you retake anything at no additional expense, which I might do at some point.
All in all, I’m very grateful to have found this school and it was well worth it. |
