I have so many good things to say about The Tech Academy. From the beginning I felt valued; the staff stayed connected and really invested time into my future. The bootcamp setup is such that all the materials are online, ready for you to access. Concepts are repeated in a variety of ways: readings, videos, assignments, etc. It worked really well for me because I studied in and around my kids' nap schedules and wife's school schedule. The instructors are like tutors that you have instant and unlimited access to. You check in with program directors each week to make sure you are doing well and have everything you need. In terms of content, the material is a good balance of simplicity and thoroughness. I came from a non-technical background, so that was really positive. The Software Developer program is amazing. It prepares you to be a full stack developer, but focuses on the back end, which was perfect for me. If you don't know what you want to do, do this one, but they have a boot camp for almost anything now, and they are all great. I got a job after doing this program as a Software Engineer, so I'd have to say that it works! In short: - Knowledgeable staff - They treat you really well - Simple yet thorough curriculum - Many different courses - It works! The only con I can think of is if you prefer class-based learning. This is the opposite of that. You do all of your learning on your own and then ask for help when needed. For me, that was perfect because I moved through some things very quickly, and others more slowly when I needed more time. I think it's the best way! |
