Given the large amount of information on the web, learning Python yourself is do-able but definitely slower and more painful. The course focuses on Python in the context for preparing to apply it towards data science and analytics. For context, I have learnt programming on my own before, dabbling with Java, VBA and Python so my opinion comes from someone who is between a newbie and a professional who has to code on a daily basis. I was unsure of what level of proficiency I needed to have before attempting AI200 and hence took the AI100 course. The instructor is both passionate about the subject matter and a practitioner in the field, which makes lessons fun and educational. The teaching assistants were also prompt in answering queries as well. The materials are detailed and is definitely a head above what you can find online, being in-depth while still being accessible to newcomers. For people whose skill level are in between like me, you definitely will learn something , either by reinforcing good habits or gaining a new perspective to coding (or dusting off the cobwebs if you are occasionally coding). If you feel that you have sufficient skill in Python and have interest in Machine Learning, by all means - do go for AI200. Highly recommended if you are interested in Python and ML!
