	Liz Lee	When I moved to London a year after the birth of my second child, I decided to explore a career change from publishing to the growing tech sector. I have tried different meet-ups, but always struggled to make it to the locations by 6:30pm, usually the worst time of the day for parents of young children. Mums in Tech was the first group I found that accommodated my needs for a day-time child-friendly meet-ups and classes. It is amazing how much you CAN accomplish when children are included in a learning environment and workspace. Entering a new career path as a parent also means I have different concerns, that were not always welcomed when raised in other groups. At Mums in Tech I feel safe and supported in my quest to continue learning new skills and pursing a new career, while being able to voice the challenges of doing that as a parent. I now have a solid foundation in html, CSS and JavaScript and most importantly, the confidence to continue to learn on my own. I look forward to being involved in the active alumni network.
