| Anonymous | I don't even know where to start, but I will say this, I don't recommend this school to anyone. You can learn the same materials, on Team Treehouse or Udacity for significantly cheaper with a much more organized curriculum, and better career support. I made a mistake for going to this bootcamp. It was a waste of time, money, and effort. The career service is a complete joke. There was none. There's no guidance whatsoever in this department. The materials that you can learn is not at all enough to land a front-end developer position. Maybe, at one point, this school was great, but from my experience, it didn't live up to any promises that were made on their website: "You'll craft your portfolio, resume, cover letter, linkedin. You'll learn how to properly apply and interview with one on one training." - guarantee you, I didn't get any of these services. They went from $6500 to $2250. Hmmm, why? Because they can't get results like they said they could. I thought I was the only person who was feeling this way, but after talking among my classmates, I wasn't the only one. I regretted my decision to come here.
Here are my recommendations for you:
- Go through and actually complete HTML, CSS and Javascript on Codecademy first to get your basics and foundations
- Once you are done with Codecademy, check out Treehouse Techdegree or Udacity. They are only $200/month. 3 months = $600. Trust me. Their curriculums are way much more organized than this school. They have mentor support too! I wish that I knew about these two options before.
- A lot of bootcamps out there offer "Council On Integrity In Results Reporting", don't apply to any bootcamps unless they can provide you this report. Codify can't get you hired. Lots of people who graduated before me or my other classmates can't get any job after they are done.
- If you really want to go through a bootcamp, check out those tuition-guarantee bootcamps because they can get results! (Flatiron School, Thinkful, Bloc, Hackbright, etc) |
