| Anonymous | I am a recent graduate of DSI through Divergence Academy by way of the VA's Vet-Tec program. We were the first cohort to go all online due to COVID-19, which as a relative novice to data science, (Air Force vet, social science undergraduate and graduate degree) wasn't ideal, but glad I stick it out. All the instructors were immensely knowledgable, especially Vish, who really challenged us, and which I appreciated. They all understood the challenges we faced with the circumstances, in addition to being flexible with us on our work, home life responsibilities. Their experiences shared and real-world examples were valued added to the instruction. If I could do it over, I would prefer the in-person option, and/or extend the program length to adjust for those that aren't as adept in DS. The all-virtual experience may be more ideal for others more adept in DS. While alot of discussion was had about job search tips, I believe I was the only one more interested in project/rfp search and business development support. As a veteran-owned business owner in the professional services field, I am looking for ways to grow my business, network and opportunities, i.e. mentor-protege, teaming, consulting, mentoring, talent acquisition/hiring, etc. As I grow, my philosophy is to pay it back by helping others grow and achieve success. I believe this area has room to grow and would love to be a part of a long-term solution. Overall though, I highly recommend Divergence Academy to anyone looking to learn, grow or hone their tech skillsets. They are first class. |
| Keith Singleton | I enrolled in the Data Science Immersive course on Sept 2017. Three years later Sept 2020 I am a full time Data Engineer. I would say my experience at Divergence Academy played a huge role in making the transition into a new career possible. The course is challenging, and engaging. Everything I learned, and every project we worked on translated directly into industry level experience. I highly reccommend this course if you are looking to change careers or simply want to skill up. |
