I decided to test the waters before jumping into a bootcamp by completing the prep course. I went into it kind of nervous, and having a lot of self-doubt about my abilities. But the positive environment, instructors, and community feeling really boosted my confidence tremendously. The prep course has a great balance of giving you a steady flow of appropriately challenging material without being overwhelming. When you do get stuck, instructors are easy to reach and happy to help. The other students in the course are a great resource as well, and pair-programming every class is a good way to get to know everyone. I look forward to moving on to their software engineering program soon.

pros : -a positive environment to thrive. -relevant content - 1:1 weekly Mentor Experience - various events for networking with members of the industry - 1:1 weekly advisor sessions cons: - level of technical expertise among instructors won't be the same - last min schedule changes - less java script course work and react implementation as optional hence not covered in depth .

I came to the program looking to fill in some gaps as well as get support for the job search. I would say that this community is incredible and that everything learned is what is needed to be successful in the job search. Our Demo night had great recruiters and the network from Hackbright is incredible. Cons: it is extremely fast-paced. I came with a fair amount of self-taught learning for programming and it kept me on my toes. Highly recommend if you want to learn Python, Javascript, and React.

I did the Python Prep Course online, and I was not coming from a tech background at all (some participants were from a tech/IT background, but were new to Python). I really think this was a great course for all of the different levels of experience, though it made the pair programming challenging sometimes when you were matched with someone with wildly different skills/background. The instructor was solid and was willing to connect during office hours every week. Some of the lectures seemed crazy fast/full and others seemed almost too slow/light. So, maybe a better balance in the curriculum would help. The best part is being with a group of all women who are similar to you in their learning and journey. That is powerful, and helps with not feeling like a fish out of water all the time. A slightly smaller cohort (we were about 30 online, I think) might also help since sometimes there were more questions during office hours/class than could be answered. Overall, a great experience, though.
