	Maggie Brown	I found Beginex after I had already taken an online UX design course. I had one project under my belt and felt like I understand the concepts, but I didn’t feel like my portfolio had nearly enough substance or polish to start applying for UX design jobs. Beginex was the perfect solution. I needed a project with a real client and an opportunity to build my portfolio under the guidance of seasoned designers. In Beginex I met a wonderful group of people – some of whom I am still friends with today. We worked with a real client and got to interview customers and potential clients. I was told from the beginning that you get out of the program what you put into it. That turned out to be exactly true. I learned how to handle each step of the UX design process, from initial research to wireframing and prototyping, as well as how to make a professional design presentation and work with a real client. In addition to that, we were guided through how to build an effective portfolio for the job we wanted. It was a challenge to do design challenges in front of mentors and guests, but ended up paying off. Before the program was even over, I was hired as a UX designer and have now risen up in the ranks to become a product manager at a small tech startup. Overall, Beginex was a great experience and introduced me to a group of awesome designers and mentors.
