Michael is very clear with all the content he delivers in class. He helps to clarify many common misconception about UX and design and help us to think from user perspective. I like how Michael emphasizes us to get the concept right instead of overly focusing on UI related matter. I appreciate his and TA’s effort to be responsive to students questions on discord. I think this class is awesome and i dont see any reasons not taking this class!

The reason why I chose to enrol in a physical UX course was 1) the instructor had great experience and background, 2) I can interact and ask the instructor any questions 3) tap into the instructor's professional network 4) meet other aspiring UX designers and be in a community. The best part of the program was being able to work on a real business problem. Not only I get to be hands-on and learn all the concepts and skills right away, but I am also able to build a connection with a potential future employer. This project also gives me a great case study in my portfolio and help me stand out from the crowd as it isn't a hypothetical case study. Through this project I also worked closely with teammates and the business stakeholders, which is a great chance to taste how a real UX job will be.

If you are looking for a course that will blow your mind, this is the one to go for. Rather than solely focusing on Experience Design’s hard skills like Figma, our instructor Michael helped us develop the mindset of design thinking. When I was in doubt and hesitated, the instructor & TAs were very supportive and dive deeper with me. I also partnered with a group of curious minds and worked with aspiring entrepreneurs. The project was intense yet fruitful, and I had a lot of takeaways from collaborating with different stakeholders. Our final playback was evaluated by a panel of experienced UX Leaders who gave valuable feedback too. The course coordinator offered various career support from career planning, personal branding, and story-telling that are immensely helpful to land a UX job! I am just grateful to join H Academy's Experience Design community and learn far more than I expected!

The instructor Michael Tam is a reputational UX professional in the industry and he always shared his experience with us during class. Despite his busy full-time job in IBM, he was so passionate in teaching us that he stayed behind in the classroom even after lessons just to give us guidance on our projects and problems. Besides the design thinking concept that is supposed to be included in the course, Michael also guided us on discovering our own unique value and transferrable skills from our previous work experience, which inspires and motivates me a lot regarding my career planning. Highly recommend!

I was pondering for months which school to go with for my study in UX Design as there have always been a handful of major names in town that offers slightly different course structure. I came across H Academy when my friend shared the link with me for a tester course, and I knew it was the right one for me since. I chose H Academy based on 3 major reasons - the course structure, the real-world project and the instructor. Course structure - Firstly the course is 100% in-person and your instructor will always be after you to support your learning along the way. Moreover, it is substantially different from what the rest of the market offers. It places a strong emphasis on working up students' design thinking mindset, rather than the technicalities on UI design. Real-world project - The 6-week course exposed us to real-world project with business clients, where we got to put theory into practise. I love the fact that the project is very close to the problems we need to approach in a business setting, which could be a solid project in your portfolio. Instructor - Our instructor Michael is a very devoted mentor who keeps his students highly engaged before, during and after the course. He is always happy to offer career advice and provide directions for us to achieve more in our corporate projects. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to tap into the UX field.
