Programs like Altcademy are great because the structured learning path ensures you are learning concepts in the right order, which removes a lot of unnecessary roadblocks and deadends. There is a lot of studying, a dozen course projects and a couple final projects at the end that goes beyond beginner level. There is a lot of personal growth and improvement from taking this program. I would recommend this to beginners, but if you could take some free courses first, that will make your time at Altcademy much easier. Make sure you know how to get around your computer, if your desktop looks like a minefield, take some time to learn how to organize your computer first.
