This was a great in-depth course that covered the core fundamentals of web development. It also taught me the key concepts of programming, which are transferable to any programming language. The real value for money for me, though, was the brilliant course... Read More structure, support network (Code Institute tutors, mentors and the student community), and ongoing career support following graduation. If not for this course and fantastic support, I wouldn't have been able to change careers and land my first web developer role as soon after graduating as I did!

The only downside to this course was that it didn't cover any frontend framework (React/Angular/Vue, etc.), which is a requirement for most frontend developer roles. If this was part of the curriculum then it would be the perfect, 5-star course. I picked React up after graduating, although it only took me around a month - part-time - to learn the fundamentals.

The tutors are good and know their stuff. The recruitment section is very supportive and has good advice. The course builds on previous tasks so you get a good grounding in full stack development. The main focus of the course is python, which is what... Read More the course's strong point is.

I recommend this course to everyone who would like to make their first step towards a career in programming. My background is psychology and I had nothing to do with coding, or anything technical for that matter, before I started the Full Stack Software... Read More Developer course part-time in August 2019. In April 2020 I was offered a 2-year apprenticeship at one of the tech giants! I knew about this opportunity from Jane, the Director of Employer Engagement at Code Institute. If it was not for her, I probably would not feel confident enough to even apply. She encouraged me to apply, reviewed my CV and wrote a recommendation letter.

Supports like this and student community are the strongest points of this course. The content is good as a guide to give you some framework of what you should know, but you need to reach to other sources and dive deeper to get the most out of it.

I highly recommend to those who are willing to work hard to enter the industry.

Code Institute is an amazing organisation that is very interested to assist people to expand on their career. From the very first day, from their core modules (very structured) to their tutor and community support, it makes you not only learn a lot, but... Read More also enjoy this entire journey. They are so prepared to help a person from even a beginner level to become very confident in programming. They focus on python frameworks but also on being very keen to javascript and front-end, to make a person realise then where they want to turn on. It is based on submitting projects rather than doing an online examination, which in my opinion is more efficient. Bottom line, it is a career-based and accredited diploma and I fully recommend to anyone to enroll at their courses and become part of it... It is a win-win and a career highlight !!!

I joined the course at Code Institute in order to pursue a change in career. The course helped me to build up a portfolio of work that demonstrates my knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. In addition, I learned how to incorporate APIs into... Read More projects such as the Google Maps API, and build SQL and NoSQL databases.

The structure of the course provided me with direction to my study of software development by giving me clear goals. Students are assessed based on four individual projects throughout the course called "milestones" that cover all the material you have learned up to that point. This allowed me to appreciate all that I learned so far based on the work I was able to produce.

Like any course, I would encourage you to go beyond the material provided. Not all the material was entirely up to date when I completed the course – in particular, the sections on Django covered a much older version of the technology.

Code Institute provides a range of support that I was impressed by. A mentor helps you throughout each milestone project with constructive feedback and ideas. A tutor is on hand to answer any questions you may have while working through the material. Student support will contact you regularly to discuss your experience with the course. Finally, career support is provided to help you find and make the most of available job opportunities. There is also a very active Slack channel where you can chat about a wide range of topics with other students.

In conclusion, I am extremely pleased with what I created during the course and the support that I received in order to do so.
