Xamarin Mobile Development Workshop

Cost: $3,500
Duration: 1 week
Locations: Online
Course Description:

The demand for mobile app development in the enterprise is exploding. Corporate clients and senior management are now requiring native iOS and Android application development from their IT teams. Since 2016 Coder Foundry has been teaching Xamarin, a tool for building cross-platform native applications for iOS, Android, and beyond. Our course was a solid introduction to Xamarin, suitable for new developers. Coder Foundry is expanding their mobile development training. Operating virtually, this workshop is a comprehensive and advanced course for existing professionals who are already experienced in building applications using C# and the .NET suite of tools.

This Xamarin Workshop is a project-based, in-person, mobile development course. The program simulates a true mobile app development sprint, starting with a client spec and ending with a running application. The course covers the full app development lifecycle, from setting up your environment to building mobile-specific features, to launching your project using the Azure Mobile Backend.

At the end of the workshop, you will have a fully-functional Mobile Ticket Manager, a project we designed so you can experience and many of the problems mobile developers face. Your application will meet the security, design, and scalability standards enterprise customers expect from their custom mobile apps. You will be surrounded by like-minded professionals and receive one-on-one feedback from our knowledgeable instructors. They have decades of experience in the enterprise and years of experience training developers like yourself.

"Really tough, but REALLY worth it"

Well written curriculum + skilled, *invested* instructors = a great experience. Make no mistake, this is a tough 12 weeks. And the last few are the hardest, when mental & physical fatigue has set in and you can see the finish line just out of reach. But... Read More

"A challenging code camp that delivered on their promises."

This was a demanding code camp. It took focus and hard work. Just what I was looking for. Now I have highly sought after coding skills, and I have the confidence that I can meet any coding challenge thrown at me. That is by design. Coder Foundry has put... Read More

"The hardest 12 weeks of my life"

One of the best decisions someone can make if they're trying to get their foot in a coding environment. Starting the course, I knew nothing about the .Net Framework. Now, I have the knowledge I need to get myself a career in coding. Read "Breaking the... Read More

"Tough, but so very worth it"

I came into the course with passing knowledge of front end web development, but it was nothing near the level of what is taught in the course. This is a boot camp not a laid back college style class. You will be pushed, you will wonder if you're going... Read More

Jason / Antonio (main instructors) and Greg (TA) are both knowledgeable and, more importantly, approachable. In addition to teaching the requirements they also make themselves available to help with tangents students might go on.

While there are no group projects or group work collaboration between students is encouraged. Students who are further along are encouraged to assist other students, this both saves instruction time and reinforces the knowledge of the teacher.

"Coder Foundry"

Please do yourself a favor and listen to yourself when deciding on whether or not to attend a coding boot camp. If you decide to go that route, Coder Foundry is a solid option that I'd highly recommend.

Coder Foundry's job placement is no joke thanks to Natosha Sanders's efforts. Most of the class were lined up for interviews before the program even ended, and some even had offers by the end of the program. If one company decides you might not be a great fit, Natosha will likely have another interview lined up for you very shortly. I appreciate that after you graduate, Coder Foundry is never really "done" with you.

I trusted myself and enrolled in this program and it delivered on its promise. Very satisfied.

"Zero to hero in twelve weeks"

To get this out of the way, first, yes this place does exactly what they claim to do. In twelve weeks with absolutely zero experience they will teach someone to be a full stack ASP.NET developer. But, more importantly than just the curriculum, I want... Read More

Everyone involved with Coder Foundry wants to see their students succeed. From the instructors to the job placement specialists to the in house photographer, they are some of the most dedicated and encouraging people I have ever met in my life. The system absolutely would not work if they were not all that kind of person.

I can't say enough about this program. It is an experience I will never forget and one that I couldn't be more proud to have gone through.

Fast Paced. You'll be expected to attend class every day. A normal day will consist of around 1-2 hours of "lecture" where you'll go over how to impliment a particular feature, how to improve code you've already written, or some computer science theory stuff. After that you're open to work at your own pace and ask questions when they come up. You'll need to be able to manage your time appropriately to deliver on a weekly basis. For reference, I was driving 2 hours there, in class 9:00 to 5:00 (with a lunch break), driving 2 hours back home, and then working on my project deliverables at home for around 2 hours. Some people will have to spend more time outside of class, others will have to spend less. You need to have the discipline and motivation to do whatever it takes to succeed.

Awesome Staff. My instructor also created videos that he shared with us during his lectures so if you need to go over something again you have the luxury of going over it as many times as you need to for it to sink in.

Weekly Results. You're expected to finish project deliverables on a weekly basis. Mondays are interview days where you'll do a mock interview about the previous weeks deliverables. In the mock interview you learn how to talk about the code you've written, so it makes you very comfortable when the real interviews start to come up. Every week I felt I was getting better and better at what I was learning.

Employment. In regards to job placement, they have tons of connections with companies looking for developers. We even had demo days where we got to show some of our projects to potential employers which lead to interviews and job placements. By week 10, 7 of the 22 students either had interviews lined up or were already offered jobs.

TL;DR - Best investment in myself that I ever made. If you're serious about trying to make a career in web development this is a great place to put you on the fast track for it.
