Coding Temple was the best decision I could have made!... Read More I completed the self-paced program in 3-months with no prior coding experience. Never in a million years did I think I could learn to write full-stack applications in just a couple of months, but the program is structured in such a way that even beginners are able to master the content very quickly. Even though the program was self-paced, I never felt unsupported or alone. Brandon Apol’s lessons were easy to follow and understand. Shadre Dent, my instructor, frequently checked in with me to make sure I was staying on track. They always helped me with problems I faced, encouraged me when I felt stuck, and celebrated my successes. Additionally, I was part of a wonderful community of self-paced students on Slack. The Slack community helped me solve homework problems I was stuck on and overall made me feel part of a bigger team. One thing to note is that I was confident in my ability to stay on track and motivate myself to learn, as I had completed an online master’s program while working full-time prior to starting at Coding Temple. If you are someone who needs a little more structure, I have only heard wonderful things about the part-time and full-time programs! Post-graduation, a wonderful team of career coaches awaits you to help with anything and everything, from creating an outstanding resume to practicing technical interviews. From my very first meeting, I could tell that Marlene Tang, the career coach, is a professional. She gives very insightful advice and pep talks and has helped me tremendously post-grad. I’m excited to work with, Nate, Sam, and Audrey, the rest of the career team soon to start my career in tech. I highly recommend Coding Temple’s program for anyone hoping to transition into tech! The only con I have is that at prior to enrolling, I was awarded a scholarship and specifically asked if it could be used for the self-paced program, but once I enrolled, they suddenly changed that and wouldn’t let me use the scholarship. Other than that, everything was great!

From the start of the bootcamp to the "end" you were never alone in your new journey. Once enrolled, I was given pre-work that must be completed before the start of your cohort. I was also added to the Coding Temple community through Slack, with many... Read More channels. It was reassuring to know I could simply reach out and get assistance from either the instructors, TAs, students, etc. The course work is very fast-paced and we had homework every night. Being dedicated and giving it my all helped me complete all my coursework. My instructor was very kind to answer any and all questions. It is very tough to code-along with the instructor so when I felt I couldn't keep up, I would just watch, listen, and take notes. This helped the information sink in better. The instructor also provided lots of helpful documentation and helpful resources. I saved every link which I was able to refer back to for homework and my final project. There are also student activities to get involved in like: Codewars workshops, algo nights, random trivia recess, etc. Coding Temple also provided night instructors that are available to help with homework and projects after lecture hours. The best part about Coding Temple is the alumni resources, which include career and tech advisors for life! Which is exactly why a put quotes around "end" at the beginning of my review because you are always apart of the Coding Temple community even after you graduate! Wonderful course, school, staff, students, everything!

I was in the 6 month self-paced program at Coding Temple from April to September 2022. It was a hard road to say the least. A working parent who has most of the responsibility of keeping the house in order because of my wife's schedule put a strain on... Read More the 6 months I couldn't have imagined. My instructors were Brandon Apol, Christian Askew and Schardre Dent during the 6 month program. They were always willing to help, but were also able to deflect back to me when it was imperative that I figure it out on my own. I originally was displease because I thought there could be more subject matter taught, especially the stuff that causes the most problems and that isn't the coding part. Looking back now, I realized that its always part of the process to figure things out on your own and the better you are at that, the more valuable you will be in the field. Also, figuring things out on your own gives you a confidence that surpasses any test you could pass and I mean that with certainty. Not only that but you will learn things and have the tools to be successful and you won't even realize it until you do start figuring things out on your own, which is what you will have to do in the field to be successful. I appreciate the effort of my instructors and there help when I needed it the most. I would recommend Coding Temple for anyone desiring to become a computer programmer or anything in the tech field for that matter because of its broad background of subjects covered. I would add however, that being a non-traditional student, this learning environment was very challenging. I believe therein lies the issues of my struggles early on.... teaching myself a lot of things was not what I was used to doing in traditional college/university. Read More the staff are great at what they do, instructors are knowledgable, down to earth, genuinely great people, insanely patient, and your biggest fans. Having graduated, I'm even more blown away by the post grad support. The resources here are totally worth the money. My only regret is not joining sooner.

I chose this program for their fast pace, price, and post-graduation job finding support. They did not disappoint. The best prt of this program is how administration took the students feedback about the learning process and implemented systems and changes... Read More on the fly to help us succeed. I had the joy of working in a cohort with Lucas Lang as lead instructor. He is an incredible guide and mentor. I just graduated, but Marlene is already dedicated to guiding us through the next steps with finding a job. I mean, she already helped me tune up my resume! Boot camp is still a boot camp. It's hard, but Coding Temple makes it worth it.

If you listen and put in the effort and know what you want to do you will get the outcome you went in wanting. I'm 4 months out and just landed a UI dev. role and I started off knowing absolutly nothing. I gave up everything and moved in with my grandma... Read More to do this career switch and it was a long and tough road. But Coding temple staff are there for you when you need if you need it. But at the end of the day you have to do it. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to get into tech and want's to learn the basics of a full stack program. Hope this help someone. Best of luck P.S. PROS: what I loved about the school is how they give you the material you need to succeed. They have a lot of code along videos that are very informational. If you can't figure something out, they encourage you to google it and if you are still stuck... Read More always reach out. The slack channel was a benefit as well because you have other students that can help out if you are stuck and if you just have a quick question, you can ask it there instead of having to wait for an appointment. Love the technical/Code wars workshops, helped out a lot with learning algo and knowing what to expect in interviews. The alumni coming back and speaking was a plus, helped me to keep moving forward CONS: In self-pace will be good for students to know their exact deadline to complete course. I was switched over from part-time program to self-pace and was never told I still had the same deadline to complete the course. Only found out because I tried to log in and do some videos and I had to message Blair and find out my time expired. They added time to my cohort but was frustrating to have to find out by trying to do homework. Better at communicating with students on who to reach out too and who will grade our assignments. I had times where I wanted to move on to my next assignment but didn't want too if my previous assignment needed to be worked on, but sometimes was waiting a whole week for an assignment to get graded. I know the school is busy but a thing that can be improved is the staff knowing when someone is close to being done so the transition to the Alumni area is smoother. I graduated but still have not received my certificate and not sure when I will.

Coding Temple is as great as the reviews say. The instructors and staff are very helpful, very nice. The recorded videos for the Self-paced program are fun to watch. Many are about 15 mins or less, some are more than that, and they are really fun to go... Read More through.

I had a great experience at Coding Temple. I completed a full-time 10 week immersive course and it was tough. Lot of cancelled plans and late nights working. But if you feel ready, I would highly recommend this bootcamp! I don't think there's ever a "perfect"... Read More time to make a decision like this. You just have to take risks sometimes and trust yourself. If I could go back, I would have prepared more. They suggest 2 weeks to complete all of the prework assignments and I only had like 6 days. I didn't finish it all, and HTML/CSS is the last of prework, but you start it on Day 1 of class. I wish that Ripal (admissions) had suggested I was enrolled in the cohort after. However, he was super nice during the admission process and granted me a $500 scholarship which was unexpected and very appreciated. The reason I bring this up is because I asked Nicole (student advisor) if I could re-enroll into the next cohort coming up. I just felt so behind and lost in HTML/CSS by day 3. She gave me the support I needed and pushed me to hang in there until the next week which was Python. If I still felt lost, we could arrange re-enrolling and waiving the re-enrollment fee. That said a lot to me about Coding Temple. That they are going to work with you if you ask for help! Class over zoom was great. I had to figure out how to learn again. You don't need to type along during class because it's all recorded and your night is going to be re-watching the day's lecture over and over. I took notes to make sure Python concepts stuck in my head. And found youtubers who explained things in different ways. Derek and Lucas were fantastic instructors, I definitely miss seeing them every day. It was a serious challenge getting everything turned in, doing codewars, attending guest speakers, scheduling after-hours help, and just living your life. But once it's over you are exposed to pretty much everything you need to know for web development. I have assignments that I will definitely come back to tweak and work on. After graduating, you get alumni support via slack forever. Marlene (career coach) and Nate (alumni tech instructor) are fantastic. They so work hard to help you succeed. There are tech workshops for coding interview challenges and job search support workshops where other alumni share their tips for getting a job offer. I like knowing that I could come back in a year or two to sharpen my skills or revamp my resume. I chose this bootcamp because it's one of the shortest timeframes out there and they offer a money back guarantee. It's real - but it's pretty hard to achieve IMO. Just know that while there are horror stories out there about some bootcamps, Coding Temple is legit. It's very expensive, but I feel proud that I did it. I will never regret investing in an education.
