I already had some (although very little) programming knowledge. And I also already had completed a semi-relevant (to data science) Bachelor`s degree before starting this bootcamp. Here is my honest review of the program and if it is for you. Pros: There is a fixed class schedule and there are workshops (homework/projects) meaning there is “imposed responsibility”. This forces you to take time to learn and is good if you lack the discipline to self-learn. Once you finish the program, you get a career coach with who you get to rework your CV and talk about your job search. They give decent advice, but I don`t feel like I was taught anything that would help me in my search in a job in Data specifically. Just general advice any job seeker would find useful. Cons: The instructors were not particularly good IMO. I think they lack experience in teaching. They can understand code and data science, but I had a hard time understanding their explanation. Since Data Science is such a complex subject, I think it is necessary to have a professional teacher/instructor and not just an engineer doing the explaining. My cohort was not a participative group (i.e. not willing to answer questions (and be wrong), no cameras on, etc.) So not easy to teach to either. The program is very fast paced, you go through a lot of concepts very quickly. I did not understand certain material and we were already moving on to another totally new concept. This is the big killer. The cost of the bootcamp is insanely overpriced. It is almost as expensive as a full Bachelor`s degree and you end up with a degree that is not worth much more than online degrees that you can print yourself. Overall, I feel very much falsely advertised. The bootcamp was basically advertising itself as a program that can turn someone that doesn`t know anything about Data Science and coding to a desirable employee for any employer. This is absolutely not the case (the interviews did not come flooding in for me neither). I know many of my cohort peers still have not been able to get jobs now 6+ months removed from the bootcamp. If you are someone desperate for a fast-track entry into tech, this is NOT your ticket in. TLDR: If you hope this bootcamp will guarantee you a job in tech, it won`t. If you are not already in tech or have some tech work or academic experience, you should do a real university degree instead. The price they charge is not worth the service they are offering. The tech market is currently on fire, it is not a good time to transition into it. This bootcamp is only useful to:A: people that already know about CS and are interested in data science. And even then, you can learn for free online.B: People to which 10k+ is not a lot (lol?) and lack the discipline to learn by themselves.Anyone else should avoid this.

The teachers at this data science bootcamp seriously lack education and experience. It's clear that the assignments and materials are simply copied from well-known books and resources. On top of that, after graduation, they barely organize a few events... Read More within the first month, and then there's complete radio silence for the remaining six months. It's disappointing to see that the success rate for finding related jobs in my cohort is less than 10 percent, and none of the successful individuals had any help or references from the bootcamp.

An excellent preparation for a first job in the industry, MERN stack but also strategies for quickly and effectively learning languages on the job. For someone without a formal background in any of the subjects, it was definitely challenging. However, if you're truly committed to the process, you will not regret it. After graduation, Concordia offers a series of workshops and lectures, as well as individual coaching from their in-house career coaches. They really set you up to succeed in your job search and help provide all the tools and direction you need to market yourself effectively to employers, and shine through the interview process. I highly recommend Concordia to anyone looking to make a life-changing move into a career in tech.

Read More can be tough and after you finish it is still kind of hard to get a job as you are someone with no background, if I were to go back in time, as someone who didn't have any background in coding I would have done an A.E.C program. Read More if you get stuck for 20 mins, you should never hesitate to get help from them. I assert that you'll certainly learn through problems. But I recommend that you must have prior basic knowledge about JavaScript, otherwise it's quite difficult to cope up with the pace of daily projects. I know some people really struggled without prior knowledge. I appreciate the career support from the bootcamp. Career coach helps significantly to prepare for the interviews with resume and cover letter correction, behavioral interview questions and valuable key information. I would suggest that you have to give extra effort to prepare yourself for technical interviews. I can't but mention about the career events what helped me to land my job at Deloitte within a month after graduation. I hope career events will be more efficient in coming days with all our feedbacks.

Read More only reading the powerpoint slides then said to ask us questions if we had any, about 90% of the time they would not know the answer, or would just say to read some of the documentation on React or Javascript ES6. Overall a poorly managed environment ran by students instead of teachers. When it comes to job interviews, most of the interviewers said most of the candidates they saw had degrees or certificates were not hired because they did not have the ability to work out scenarios and make something work without precise instructions on what they should do. To finalize, look at courses inline like CodeAcademy or Udemy, or the sorts and build a proper portfolio and build on your problem solving and you would have saved money and the headache

The curriculum is great and mostly up to date. Almost all the instructors are friendly and will definitely help you in every step of your journey. I'd definitely recommend having at least a basic knowledge of JavaScript to make the course a bit easier... Read More because it is very intense and you learn a lot of new technologies in only 3 months. So having a previous knowledge definitely helps you a lot. However, the best feature of the bootcamp is definitely the job support that comes after. They'll help you create a very good résumé and help you expand your network via LinkedIn and there is a career coach assigned to you who will meet you weekly. Furthermore, there are lots of networking event they provide, and they can help tremendously in your job search. All in all, it's a very intense program but due the job support that comes after, it's worth it.
