It is a program that the instructors and staff care about and it actively comes through with how much effort they show to be there with solutions or simply pizza. Cons: Although geared to complete beginners, having some minor prior knowledge of concepts may be required in order not to fall behind in pace. Taking a couple of weeks or so of prep work is recommended. These are industry professionals who work/teach here so they know the industry in and out. The end game of the program is the desired outcome of a job/career and Kenzie does actually prepare you as best as humanly possible. Nothing beats actual work experience so Kenzie Academy does a fine job of teaching the SWE mindset and giving you the skills to succeed in the industry.

They all knew the material and did an outstanding job at explaining things. I was very afraid... Read More and embarrassed to ask questions initially which caused me to struggle at times. I eventually got over that when I recognized that there were likely many others who were just as uncomfortable as I. The staff is VERY willing to bend over backward to help especially for students who are doing their part to "show up"! I also appreciated how patient the academic team was with the students in my cohort.

Kenzie was a great school for me when learning UX design. At the time, I can tell UX design curriculums were fresh but they did provide the right lessons that helped me today. There was missing info I’ve noticed BUT in tech especially design, things change... Read More overtime. I really loved my classmates and how we all formed as one. Overall great experience.

There’s a saying that I feel encapsulates what it’s like to attend Kenzie - “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink it”. At Kenzie, you’re given ample resources to be successful, but it’s ultimately up to you to make the most out... Read More of them. The bootcamp isn’t something where you’ll receive credentials that will guarantee you an interview or a job, but the knowledge you gain will. If you utilize all of the tools and resources allotted to you by Kenzie, it’s truly an amazing program that I would recommend to anyone looking to jump-start their career in tech.

Don't expect to be taught very much in this course. The school curriculum is all on your own with documentation just given to you to learn by yourself. None of the videos or documentation is exclusive to Kenzie, it is all other peoples youtube videos.... Read More Just go to youtube and codecademy for free. The staff is nice and always willing to talk to you but nice does not mean helpful. Every meeting I have had with staff members had the same flow. We hear you, we understand where you are coming from, we appreciate your enthusiasm, thank you for your feedback and that is it. Nothing changes. If you have any kind of programming experience this course is definitely not for you. A large portion of our class does not even understand the basics of the course and are getting pushed through to graduation. I did not learn anything about React and still graduated. You can take the year and get the worthless certification with very little actual programming knowledge and be forced to go back you your old job and still pay Kenzie for 4 years. Seriously, IF YOU WANT TO LEARN THIS STUFF GO TO COLLEGE. This is not a school, its a business.

I applied to the marketing program and right away scheduled my interview. The day of I needed to reschedule and made appointment for next day. I received a confirmation that J****** was looking forward to speaking to me. The day of few hours before scheduled... Read More time, my interview was cancelled without any real explanation. SO I scheduled my discovery call with A****. The next day AGAIN my interview was cancelled, this time I was told that the school is not doing any marketing interviews for now and they will reach out to me when they are ready. Pretty shady and disappointing to say the least!

Something else that is concerning that both J****** and A****, communicated from A****'s email address. In the intro email that I received, it said that next cohort started in April, yet A**** the October one was still open.

Judging from everyone's great reviews, I am thinking that maybe this has happened to me, because of my age. The school's application does ask for age. Maybe I just have bad luck or this place is not for me. Either way, when and IF the school reaches out to me, I will not be scheduling my interview based on this poor experience so far.

Kenzie offers a hands-on learning environment where you learn by doing rather than sitting in front of a lecturer and trying to retain that information. You not only learn to code but you will also learn the soft skills needed . Overall my experience at Kenzie so far is amazing. The curriculum is current. Anybody who wants to become a software developer should consider Kenzie.
