Mindmingle taught us the relevant technologies that are used in the work field and the basic expertise and tactics to learn new technologies. After the 10-week BootCamp, they offer various tips and tricks and guidance for applying for a software development job. Can recommend Mindmingle to everyone who is looking for a career switch to Tech in the Netherlands.

My Journey:  I came from a Physiotherapy background with zero tech education. Before I enrolled, I explored the field just to confirm my genuine interest. Upon joining (21 days before the commencement), I was given some pre-work related to HTML, CSS,... Read More and very basic JS. The course began with TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals and then progressed to cover topics like React, Next.js, Express, Prisma, and Tailwind CSS. All this sounds a lot and overwhelming, but this is where the teaching methodology made the difference. Usually, each topic was covered in a week, where the first two days were focused on basics and with ample hands-on exercises and then we progressed towards advanced concepts. There was plenty of time for self-learning and both Swen and Aiden were always there for any doubts or more clarifications. This is also a big plus for a small in-person class setup, it’s so much more convenient to ask quick questions. Their extensive teaching experience meant they were well aware of the challenges beginners face, and they were patient and empathetic in addressing these challenges.  After these topics, we worked on two group projects and a portfolio project. Again, the amount of support was unlimited, I used some libraries in my project which was not part of the course but I still got all the support I needed. We sometimes sat for hours, pair programming complex things. This was also a big plus, you get to see how the Pros do it :). Along with the projects, we prepared our CVs and had mock interviews.  While the course was intensive, we had lots of fun too, there was a meme channel and Friday beers. We all had different backgrounds and I was initially hesitant if I would fit in or not but I ended up making new friends.  I finished the course successfully and I feel confident enough, not just for the topics we were taught, but also if I have to work on new languages and frameworks. TLDR; 1. Well structured course that comes with all the support from the mentors.  2. The concepts are explained in ways that are easy to understand for beginners.  3. Lots and lots of hands-on with multiple projects and exercises to ensure that the concepts are well absorbed.  4. CV Preparations, Mock interviews, and even professional photo shoots for profile pictures. 5. The environment was really chill and welcoming. 6. Did I mention, the unlimited support from the mentors?  Pro tip! Do the pre-work sincerely and then you will glide through the course.
