"Nucamp: Hands-on Coding"
Taking coding courses at a college didn’t make me feel like I could actually code by the end of class. I spent too much time worrying about things like writing papers and making sure they followed formats like MLA. At Nucamp, it’s all about the code—just... Read More

"Nucamp: do your research"
My experience with nucamp was a solid 4/5.
The instructors I was assigned were, for the most part, very knowledgeable and knew what they were talking about. They were also great teachers and explained concepts well (especially in the fundamentals and devops... Read More
Honestly, this was still better than going to college and spending $5000 learning more English. I got a decent amount of experience and confidence with backend design (:
rating breakdown:
+1 - offset star rating from 0-4 to 1-5
+3 - great instructors!
As with all things, do your research before signing up.

"Back end course with Python"
So far I've only done the 5 weeks of the Python course from the stance of someone that's only done HTML before actively and dabbled into C++ and python barely and not done well/failed. This course and instructor Michael lit the match that started my passion... Read More

"nucamp review"
my plan after highschool was to go in to computer science, but to not spend a ton of money on college. I thought that getting certifications was the right choice (and I do still think it is)
I found nucamp and since it was not that expensive and seemed... Read More
and then I paid for it, and the introduction hit me
all of the lesson is just Ludo reading off a script that ChatGPT spat out (or something else that just happens to give a 100% on gptzero.me)
the rest of the actual lesson content wasn't much better; there "male" and "female" instructors and that's all I can tell about them...
the content, at least for the backend course, assumes a background with JavaScript, or at least some language with procedural and OOP paradigms.
this is not beginner-friendly. this is a great course to take once you know the basics of computer science, but it's not for people with no experience.
the instructor I got was incredible though, and he reminded me of Richard Stallman so that's a plus (:
overall,
the backend (python + sql + devops) course has pretty good content, but it's not for beginners.
