I wanted to think outside the box and study something that would allow me to work from home and earn a higher income. I am practical and I didn't want to invest so much money into a BootCamp so I chose the QA Engineering curriculum. It was also the most affordable option. I discovered TripleTen when through some ads on Youtube. At the time it was called "Practicum". I am not working at the moment so I am completely dedicated to studying. One of the standout features of this BootCamp is the flexibility it offers, allowing students to progress at their own pace, which is a significant advantage for those balancing other commitments.

Pros:

Self-Paced Learning: The course structure accommodates various learning speeds, making it easier to absorb the material thoroughly.
Accountability through Success Managers: The presence of dedicated success managers is a great support system. They help keep you accountable for your projects and deadlines while ensuring the learning experience remains manageable and not overly stressful.
Rich Educational Content: The curriculum is comprehensive and provides hands-on experience in QA engineering, which is crucial for practical knowledge.
The almost mandatory externship experience is the selling point. Upon graduation, you are enrolled in an externship that gives you more hands-on experience so that you are ready for the job.

Cons:

I decided to start learning about software engineering earlier this year as it was something I have always been interested in. Most of my studying was done in the hours after work. There wasn't really a schedule since some days I would take a break and other I'd be coding from 5pm to midnight. I participated in the June 2024 Code Jam and enjoyed learning how to be effective in a group instead of just solo coding. What I liked most about TripleTen was the ability to work at my own pace. I also like that I was able to take some time off when I needed to focus more on my personal life for a bit. Overall, I enjoyed my experience learning software engineering with TripleTen and would consider taking one of their other courses, like cyber security, if it helps with whatever job I land after graduation.

Read More advisor about the camp, they told me you get your money back guarantee if you don’t find a job within the first six months so it was a no brainer to me. The Boot Camp is broken down into sprints; for the QA engineer Boot Camp there are 9 total sprints. I’m currently in 7, and at the end of each sprint there is a project that must be completed. Some projects are pretty difficult, but most are manageable. If you use the tutor hours in a tutor, you’re able to get through all of them not too much hassle. Triple ten has helped me in my coding journey with teaching me new concepts and terminology of how coding and concepts works. If I were to give any tips on someone who’s just starting, I would say take your time with each sprint and make sure you’re absorbing all the material in each chapter because going back is fine for the project, but it’ll save you way more time if you understand the concepts better.

I choose Triple Ten because it is giving enough long duration to complete course work which is needed for me as am new in tech world. Plus there is lot of support and guidance from the tutors if we stuck in between projects or have any doubts we can reach them at any time on the platform Discord. The instructors are very knowledgeable and very helpful.For me, the most challenging part was adapting some of the unique libraries and technologies that were presented throughout the course. The core concept is there, but this was the first “bump” I came across. An example here would be various JavaScript libraries; you have a fundamental understanding of JavaScript, but understanding/adapting a unique JS library while initially only abstracting parts of it is something that takes time. The important lesson I learned here is that this is a common challenge for even seasoned developers, as the industry is variable and constantly changing with new/different/better ways to do things, so it’s important to be cognizant of the fact that it may take you time to learn something. It reinforced my opinion that you are never too old to learn something new! It was pretty amazing going from not knowing how to code to building a real working project. Then there is career support which is great benefit and our ultimate goal to land a desired job. This program gave me knowledge of Technologies which were new for me and confidence to kickstart my career in tech industry. So if you are passionate about technologies and interested in putting efforts then this would be a good fit for you.

I had been considering a similarly structured online program but TripleTen’s full-stack looked way better with a better price tag. I also liked how the program was structured into sprints. I can struggle to self-start and keep an independent pace, so the hard deadlines hold me accountable. You are able to take breaks in the program as needed (they are even encouraged!). Once I had decided that TripleTen was the program that I wanted to move forward with I spoke with an advisor who further helped me to “quiet” the thoughts that told me that I couldn’t do it – and I went for it! I am so happy that I did. The journey has been challenging but seeing your projects come together is SO rewarding. The theory can be overwhelming at first. However, it is divided into text, visuals, videos, links to outside resources, and the interactive coding platform so it is easy to stay engaged. The platform is also visually appealing and easy to navigate. I highly recommend giving yourself enough time to complete the theory especially if you do not have any coding experience. And take notes! The best part of the program is the Discord server where you can interact with the Tutors, Success Managers, and other students. The Tutors do a great job of giving hints and explanations using videos, visuals, and detailed written feedback to guide you towards the solution rather than telling you the answer outright. They help you to critically think and encourage you to do your own research because that is going to help you be successful in the workforce. I have never had to wait more than two hours for a tutor to answer a question. There are also multiple office hours most days of the week, so there are frequent opportunities for support outside of Discord. If additional support is needed, you can ask for a 1:1 tutoring session. The Success Managers check-in with you frequently, encourage you to keep up the hard work, and help you keep a steady pace. The whole community is really supportive and friendly. I haven’t fully immersed myself in the career prep coursework but the resources are abundant! If you are considering TripleTen as your coding bootcamp, I am here to tell you that the program is a 10/10 DO recommend!

However, when it got to creating projects I lacked direction. This was when I decided to interview with bootcamps. It was close, but TripleTen won me over. From the start they showed transparency to share all they had to offer when others were reluctant. They were quick to respond to my questions and were never condescending. They got me excited to jump back into my career after the woes of quitting law school. This has been a solid foundation and an accurate representation of how the bootcamp is. Check out their website - the quirkiness bleeds into the course making the content way more enjoyable. If I have a question or concern it is addressed quickly. The course is set up to remind us that it is perfectly normal not to not understand a concept right away. This helps me no longer spend hours on message boards, rather get help from an encouraging source within minutes. However, the biggest selling point has been the career focus. TripleTen was the only one to offer real world experience with externships in their data science program when I applied. I haven’t quite got to this point, but should start it next month. In terms of downsides, I would emphasise that this course isn’t easy. You must remember that we are competing with people who have many years of experience in these fields. Also don’t be too hard on yourself if you can’t figure it all out at first and be sure to reach out to help when you need it. That’s what you are paying for.

Then, scrolling through Instagram, of all places, I get an ad for an online bootcamp called TripleTen. After doing my research, I hopped on the bandwagon, reading that they are so confident in their job-hunting skills that they'll refund your tuition if you don't get a job is really exciting. There are no classes, a simple website with an interactive coding platform, and a discord server where you can ask questions and keep in contact with the community and your tutors. With a deadline every two weeks (sprints) for your projects, you'll be done before the end of the year. I love that at any time of those two weeks, I can work as long as I want whenever I want. Of course, as long as I turn in the project before the deadline. They recently made it where the career curriculum a part of the regular program, so that you can knock both out at the same time! I recommend that anyone getting into this program to start building small projects alongside the education, as that will really reinforce your skills and show that you really are learning something powerful from the education. I greatly recommend this program to anyone interested in Software Development, and I can't wait to get into this career.
