Full Stack Web Developer

Cost: $16,950
Duration: 12 weeks
Locations: Online, Los Angeles, Irvine, Culver City
In-person Available Online
Course Description:

Sabio will ensure that all trainees are competent in developing cross browser applications targeting both desktop and mobile clients.

The full stack program will equip you to utilize a myriad of software development tools used by industry professionals to develop, debug and design dynamic web applications; conducting both front-end and back-end development, application program interfaces (API’s), back-end data stores such as relational database management systems (RDMS) and team development strategies. The course will prepare you to perform the duties of a typical entry-level Full Stack Web Developer. A Full Stack Web Developer is a programmer with a technical skill set that allows them to perform in client side, server side/middle tier, and backend-database development environments. Their main tasks are to develop, design and debug software that runs in a cross-browser environment served out of a web server backed by a database server for data persistence. The course will allow you to be substantially knowledgeable in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from concept to finished product and the ability to specialize, if they choose, in anything from front-end to back-end development technologies. You will obtain the knowledge and skills to develop relational databases and work with data that is not stored in a relational manner. They will interact with their own API’s and third party API’s. They will also be exposed to many User Interface and User Experience (UI and UX) () design concerns while building an understanding of how to gather customer and client requirements. They will be fluent in performing quality assurance testing and fundamental security concerns. Specifically, the course will produce a programmer/developer that can work with many of the most popular design patterns, third party APIs, libraries and technologies including but not limited to: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, MVVM, MVC, AngularJS, jQuery, Ajax, Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection, Principles of Object Oriented Design, Data Structures, Data Access, Database Design and Architecture, GIS, SMS, SMTP and RESTFul Api Design. Sabio focuses on a single, group based project that exposes you to the full Software Development Life Cycle as experienced in a team practicing Agile/Scrum project management and development principles.

"All the tools to succeed"

When I went to Sabio, I was expecting to graduate with the ability to code, and then figure out the next steps. By the end of the program, I went from only knowing HTML/CSS and a little bit of javascript to learning how to build an entire application... Read More

It took me a little under 2 months to secure a position as a developer, and I still occasionally have my instructors reach out and see how I'm doing. Gregorio was also really accessible during the whole cohort as well as after graduation. I know that I can always reach out to them for help as if I were in an active cohort.

"Impressive. Instructional. Worth It."

While there are many free online schools that can teach you coding, Sabio teaches you how to ask the right questions to succeed in a developer environment. This helped me so much in my progression of coding but also in learning different languages after... Read More

The instructors also balance each fellow's own needs/ skill levels so you can always be sure you are challenged as a developer. They are always available and are always open to feedback. They will always send over code reviews, answer any debugging questions, and aid in any way possible during the job hunt.... long after the 12 week program is finished, they'll be available.

Sabio really set me up so that I can tackle brand new challenges/ frameworks/ languages and come out successful.

If you put in the hours, effort, and dedication... no doubt you will experience immense support/ success from the program.

"Killer program!"

A quick background... I spent over 5 years working in a sales/operations position for one of the world's largest eyewear companies. After a mass-layoff, and realizing I DIDN'T want to stay in that industry, I started picking up basic HTML, CSS, Javascript,... Read More

I went in not knowing what to expect, and really not knowing much. Like others have mentioned, the pre-work gives you a chance to get a good feel for what it's like to code as they teach you a lot of stuff. I went the route of the .NET course in Orange County, with Victor Campos as my instructor/lead. I spent the next 12 weeks of my life doing nothing but coding for 70-80 hours each week. It is really tough at times. You've got to be committed, and whatever you put into the program is what you get out of it.

The instructors do a great job of helping you to become extremely self-resourceful developers that write clean and efficient code, as well as prepare you for an actual software developer work environment with actual experience. A few mock technical interviews take place throughout the program, and the last few weeks are spent working on resumes, personal projects, and technical interview prep. I would say Sabio is less of a bootcamp and more of an apprenticeship.

If software development is something you're passionate about, and it's someting you commit your life to, I'm sure you'll succeed. I'm thankful for the staff at Sabio and for the hard work they've put into me and my success.

"Invest in Yourself"

Learning to be a true developer through Sabio was a rewarding journey, and I’m honestly still in awe at how much I’ve gained through it. This whole experience was just a confirmation that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

Earlier this year... Read More

Sabio stood out for the fact that they have a rich network of developers, and to have those resources, connections, and advice available to you is priceless. It is not a typical classroom environment – you work day in and day out for the experience of working on a real project with a real team of your cohortmates, learning on the fly. The vast amount of knowledge and the application of that knowledge that you gain in this “bootcamp” environment is no joke – and I wouldn’t have had the discipline or mentorship to learn everything I know now on my own without Sabio.

The stars aligned for me because I personally couldn’t have asked for a better experience or outcome. The OC campus was nice and in a convenient location right across from the bustling Fashion Island. I was grouped with awesome colleagues in my cohort, with whom I had an environment of support and camaraderie as we encouraged each other to keep pushing forward those twelve weeks. I’m indebted to our instructor Jeremy, whose patient mentorship and insane knowledge and experience got us to where we are today. He’s a great teacher and a great guy, and it was uncanny how he knew how to answer all of the questions I had that I didn’t even know how to ask. Vic, the other instructor at the OC campus, was also always so supportive as far as career advice, interview prep, and guidance went.

I currently call myself a developer consultant, which on many days seems surreal, given that I knew nothing about programming at the beginning of this year. At my current company, I came to appreciate how well I was prepared for my position in many ways: working and communicating with a team, knowing how to resourceful enough to solve a problem or produce a solution, and thinking like a developer. The classroom setting itself emulated the environment I am in daily and all the skills I learned in that setting have contributed to my confidence in my growth as a dev and the growth of my career.

It’s possible. If you want a career in development, my advice is to go all in and invest in yourself. If you’re going to commit to Sabio, you’ll be given the right resources to succeed – but it’s up to YOU how effectively you utilize those resources. The most important thing to be conscious of is that there is nothing magical about this process – your success is directly correlated to how hard you work, how much time you put in to understand your craft, and how much you put yourself out there and ask questions. If you keep focused, keep a positive attitude (which is so key when things get rough!), and have fun with the process, this could be the most rewarding decision you make for yourself.

"A Commitment to Quality"

I really don't have anything but good things to say about Sabio. When I was researching bootcamps, their name obviously leapt out to me due to their consistently excellent reviews, and I have to say that they totally lived up to the hype. The co-founders, Gregorio and Liliana, so clearly put the student experience at the forefront of everything they do and it will pay dividends for you if you put forth the effort they ask of you.

".NET full-stack @ Sabio"

***ATTN: My fellow hardworking Biology graduates slaving away in labs****

After graduating with a degree in Molecular Biology, I had hoped to have a long career in research but that's not how things ended up. I took a job as a Research Associate to gain... Read More

After being advised to run away from the field by my lab manager/mentor when I asked for a letter of recommendation, I ended up in medical school b/c I already had the pre-reqs courses. But since I didn't have a passion for being a physician, I made a business decision to dropout before accumulating debt & being miserable at the same time. After my cup of tea at Med school, I started exploring other fields & I had take web design in high school along w/ an intro computer science course in college which I enjoyed so I figured bootcamps could be my way into the tech field. While reading reviews, I ended up on Sabio's page & couldn't find one negative review. Skeptical, I decided to attend their info session in Culver City hosted by Gregorio. To my surprise, it was an open forum instead of preachy like a used car salesman. Gregorio basically didn't sugarcoat anything & kept it real which I appreciated. I left convinced to hand over 15Ks & to eat/breath/sleep/dream code for 10 weeks. Gregorio ended up being my instructor & although his method was tough love, he taught me how to think like a professional programmer not just code. After 2 months, I ended up being offer a full-stack position at a well known corporation for double my previous salary.

If you are committed & willing to learn/put in the time (inside/outside lab) while setting aside your egos/social life, you will learn enough in 10 weeks to further your career. Sabio has a close-knit supportive community that will guide you along the way & professional development meetups after you graduate to keep you current w/ the newest technology.

"Sabio is how I answered my question "Where do I start to have a chance to be successful""

I attended (and recommend you attend) an information session hosted by CTO Gregorio. During this session I got my questions answered, I didn't feel any concern or sketchyness, and most importantly I didn't feel like I was speaking to a salesman. I was speaking to a knowledgeable industry veteran who was on a mission to give guys and gals like me a fighting chance at life. From that initial meeting I knew my gut was right and decided to enroll in pre-work, then I made it to cohort, managed to get hands on project experience, work in a team, had two awesome developer leads Mike and Dan and build code and new friendships. It has been one of the smartest decisions I have ever made in life because I am now employed as a developer in an office in front of Malibu Beach.

If you have doubts go to Sabio and I promise you, you will clear them. CEO Liliana and CTO Gregorio are two amazing human beings that wake up every morning and have made it a life's work to give anyone who is willing to work hard a fighting chance at a better life. After I was done with the program, they still reached out to me trying help me in any way possible to make sure I found a job. I walked in there lost and I have walked out there with not only a job but the entire Sabio community, which is a priceless asset and an advantage I know have entering my new career. I look forward to growing and helping this community and future Alumns as I know many Alumns will agree with that sentiment. Thank you Liliana and Gregorio, Thank you Sabio!!
