After ~6 months studying I was able to land my first job as a junior data analyst without even finishing the course. You're constantly reminded of what you've learned so far and that did wonders for my SQL skills. Their mentorship and domain knowledge were invaluable, guiding my transition from an Excel practitioner to a proficient Python user. It is well structured, has a lot of informative and interesting material (online books, videos, podcasts and etc.) and is well planned in terms of the timeline you have to complete it in, which, if/when needed, is also flexible 🙂 Not having the standard lecturer and student relationship, but rather peer-to-peer learning experience enables everyone to work at their own pace and time. This learning structure is also really beneficial to you, because being reviewed by other learners (and also senior team leads), you are able to get a lot of great advices on your work, which helps you improve yourself and excel your skills at all times (sometimes even helpful to the correctors themselves 😉)! Why did I choose Turing College? What drew me to Turing College was the cheerful and positive education team and staff members. They had numerous Senior Team Leads (STL) from companies I aspired to work for. One particular aspect that intrigued me was their effective method cementing newly acquired knowledge through hands-on practical graded projects. These projects are presented to a senior student and an STL (industry professional who typically works as a data scientist or data analyst in well-known companies). And that's not all. To progress in the course, you need to earn points by reviewing and correcting other students' projects. This approach encourages interactions among students, fosters new friendships, and helps you realize that the same graded task can be accomplished in various ways. I completed the main Data Analyst course in five months and am currently working through some optional modules. Up to this point, my experience has been nothing but positive. I greatly appreciate the weekly standup video calls where we engage with an STL and fellow students from our group. Also there are plenty of experienced JTLs (junior team leads) who have regular open-sessions which students can join if they feel they need some additional help. Turing College has also provided me with additional assistance on preparing my LinkedIn and GitHub profiles. Thanks to Turing College, I've already established a few connections in companies I aspire to work for, as I've had one-on-one interactions while they evaluated my Turing College data projects.
