After joining the Bootcamp and becoming a software developer has been a new adventure and I'm loving it! I really needed a new challenge. Looking back it's incredible to see the changes that my life took. I couldn't imagine that I would be doing games with graphical interface in Java, after just four weeks of coding.

My background is in Languages and Management. Although I have always enjoyed technology, I thought I should be a jedi master in Maths to learn computing. I started taking courses online on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP just as a hobby. As I was turning... Read More 35, I thought it would be a good brain exercise to keep studying and learning something new. Then I decided to move to Portugal and changed my career. I decided I wanted to start working in tech. At first I didn't believe a coding bootcamp could have almost 100% of their students working, then I talked to former students I had found on LinkedIn and Facebook. I hesitated to pay the price because I didn't really fell I would be able to find a job that quickly. But I decided to take a shot after talking about payment conditions - they have good options! All I can say is that was my best experience in life. As a teacher myself, I can say their methodology do work! Those were 14 intense weeks I did nothing else but code and think on coding. No social life outside the bootcamp - we had beer and fun while thinking of the exercises. It's definitely not for those who are looking for an easy path. However, two weeks after the end of the course I had three different job offers. I am now quite glad and still studying. But that's all about working in tech is, right?

Had the chance to embrace this great adventure with Academia de Código. It is refreshing to see the excitment from our instructors while they are teaching, and how available they are to assist us with any doubt that was left behind.

My journey to learn programming started by doing online courses on YouTube, udemy, udacity. While doing the courses felt of a need to take classroom course. They are really good what they do. They never leave you in dark, of course they give challenge to do yourself but you will always find their helping hand. The most important thing is that the family you create with this 14 weeks bootcamp, it creates a bond among the students and the instructors for being together for that long. Finally, the post course completion assistance for the job is overwhelming. They were always beside as and still is. I am proud to say that I am an alumni of Academia de código.
